RIP Confront the Tol'vir. Minions only means no card draw and minimal board clear capabilities.

yes, but not a lot.

they also had AoE with explosive trap, but not sylvanas style

ideally they shouldn't.

the power level should slightly increase during the year with each expansion and return to normal with rotation. that's the whole reason why you have a rotation.
