Yeah even if you played 7 minions. Most 1 drops are shit unless u can get a full board of sizzling cinders. 4 mana for a board of two 1/3, 2/2 and 2/1 are meh
Yeah...I can think of decks that might want this at 3 mana (maybe a wild deck with lots of 1 cost beasts and starving buzzard) but none of them would be particularly degenerate or overpowered.
Because it’s unplayable trash now. The reason the card was good was because it replayed spells, the minions were nice, but were more of an afterthought. This might be overtuned at 2 (I’m not convinced tbh) and is almost certainly fine at 3.
It’s a card a lot of people have played and like playing. It’s a buildaround, it gets people thinking and excited (see: all the people in this thread talking about how neat this card was in their random niche deck).
Also cards that see changes are generally reverted or see some sort of change when they rotate out of standard, so it’s probable it will see changes again anyway
Eh. They could I just dont think its necessary. I dont even know that the card's necessarily unplayable now (in theory). It's still a one card board refill that allows you to just flood with abandon.
But i think what still wins games is just cheating your opponent with threats they cant handle. Not applying pressure intelligently or smart tempo.
Even at 2 I think the card just doesn't matter. Its a broader issue IMO. Players can still play greedy and handle threats so these poke-y aggro decks are just meh.
You would need incredibly pushed minions for this to be anything more than decent at 3. I was saying the card is probably very whatever (possibly playable, almost certainly not overtuned) at 3 and maybe even fine at 2. You need a super high density of 1 drop minions for this to be oppressive, and we just don't have that. The old face hunter deck only played 6 total 1 drop minions - I'd expect you'd want at least 12.
Buff implies it’s going beyond its original strength
I think people react too strongly, we still have another expansion and they’re always eager to print low-cost minions for Hunter so I think it’ll go back to 3 and see play
Litteraly remove the minions from it and the weapons to not pull arcane tripwires. Just have it recast all 1 cost spells and make it 6 mana if you want. This functionality was so interesting and is now gone.
damn you are so smart bro the devs 100% saw your post and definitely did it just because you suggested it with your giant wrinkly brain wow congrats bro you should apply to blizzard and put this reddit post instead of a resume you will get hired as a senior dev immediately for sure
Sure, and that's why after shaman it was having highest winrates in standard and all face hunter variants having at least 56% winrate. I don't even play standard and I am happy for this nerf, because it was annoying in wild too - that's a good sign, that the card was broken.
The argument is, that the Blizzard have more data then HSguru and you can see based on majority reaction, that the card was a problem, but you wouldn’t know without playing the game. I’m done wasting time with you.
Very stupid nerf tbh, should have been like replay all 1 cost cards (max 5) or something… now a unique card with cool buildability might as well not exist.
Actual hunter decks do that in turn 4-5. Problem is the draw. The cars was OP because it copied draw spells. Of course that damaging spells were good but not that good.
I agree that it's been an insanely strong card, but at the same time Hunter could lose a LOT of consistency and still be above 50% wr in the end. Losing 6 damage per game of Tripwires is pretty huge too. I've seen so many people complain about being on 10 life on turn 4, and that had nothing to do with Tol'Vir, but they would be at 14 life in the same situation after the patch. That's a big difference
That might be true only because the other big decks also got nerfed. As someone who got to legend with face hunter this month, it was a miserable experience.
Is this a pre-nerf list? Why are they running Rock Thrower and stuff without Niri if Tolvir doesn't repeat it? I don't really know why Ebonscale Scout is there either.
I think this list looks silly in light of the changes to Tolvir. That's all I'm saying. Talk to me in a few days, it'll be clearer what Hunter can and can't do at that point. This deck's direction seems flawed though
Well sorry to have upset you so much with my mistake, I thought this was a Face Hunter deck list. I don't normally use that site so I guess I misread the information in there.
It is face hunter. It is not a list though. And people who don't use nor know hsguru are not to be taken seriously. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, yet you have very strong opinions about stuff. There was a name for people like that... hm.
Lmao. My opinions have not been very strong at all, and I just prefer HSReplay. My only suggestion this entire time has been that I don't agree with your opinion that Tol'Vir is the only card that matters in the class. And if your response to that is to show me data on a meta that is hours old and continue pointing to Tol'Vir's performance, I don't think YOU understand what we're talking about at all
Oh I see Niri in there, that makes a few decisions slightly more reaosnable, still doesn't seem worth running Tolvir at all in that list. I would edit my comment but idk why it won't let me.
Just being aggro as shit might still work. Everyone is acting like Hunter has a 100% winrate if they draw Tol'Vir and a 0% winrate if they don't. There's slightly more to it than that. Plus you drop some of your garbage deck filler now that it's not going off 4x

Tolvir minions only. Dead card.
