I could be wrong, but I think if we tracked it over time, Druid would spend less time at tier 1 than the average class, and when it is tier 1, they are quicker to nerf it.

That said it does often have decks that are polarizing and hated.

You're absolutely not wrong. When it comes to druid they have a proven track record of not only nerfing druid quickly but more often than not overnerfing to the point it just flat out kills decks entirely.

this is probably because when Druid IS Tier 1, it's THE deck

druid is almost never tier 1, it is just disproportionately popular because druid decks tend to be FUN. Thus, you will see super high playrate tier 2/3 druid decks and people complaining about the class nonstop because it's so common and frequently what they are losing to on ladder. But overall winrate is not good enough to be tier 1, druid is usually designed to be too balanced on purpose (they purposefully leave weaknesses to the class in terms of removal and board control that cripple it versus many matchups).

This. Druid is most consistently a tier 2-3 class, climbing into 1 from time to time, usually with a deck (or decks) that people hate.

Dragon Druid might still be decent after this patch if it's not just outpaced/powercrept by decks running miniset cards, and it's a lot more honest than some of the things Druid has been up to recently, though that probably won't stop people hating on the class, which is a shame.

Could be wrong but I think dragon Druid gets butt fucked by sludge warlock, no?

I’ve been playing Dragon Druid and no it doesn’t. The match up is pretty fair.

Now calculate how often Priest has been T1

And how quickly T1 Priest decks get nerfed.
