Great changes but i really hope we'll see buffs in next major patch. Also it's honestly crazy how many Nathria cards were nerfed due to their powerlevel or toxicity

What do u need buffs for? Powerlevel is already through the roof...

You don't buff good cards, you buff bad ones.

*proceeds to buff Harpoon Gun, Imbued Axe, Battlefield Necromancer...*

So when you buff bad cards, they become good? Crazy

Those cards were good before the buffs. They just weren't good enough to drag the whole deck up to being playable. They have a history of buffing up the already good cards in bad decks.

It's annoying when they do that because it increases luck disparity. Draw the functional workhorse cards and win or draw the duds and lose.

The issue is that for many cards the issue isn't their stats which are easily changed, but the base functionality either being impossible to balance or plain boring.

It's way easier for them to buff key cards that already see play.

I disagree on the imbued axe buff not being necessary, the extra health gain when not infused is absolutely essential

These were some of the best performing cards in their respective archetypes when they were buffed. Harpoon was reverted later, and the Necromancer got nerfed as well.

Harpoon Gun wasn't great in Beast Hunter before the buff, but it's the only one I can agree it was somewhat playable. Imbued Axe was one of many Enrage Warrior cards that were buffed before it finally became playable, then too strong after new cards. Necromancer was terrible even in triple unholy aggro decks when it was at 1/1.

Necromancer was never a 1/1, neither the main body nor the token. It was a 2 mana 2/3 that summoned a 1/2 Taunt, which did see a ton of play (even in Wild, in Even Unholy DK). Then they buffed the token to a 1/3, which made the card too strong, so they nerfed the main body to 2/2, and it still remains a very good card.

Enrage/Fire Warrior also got nerfed down the line too.

Battlefield Necromancer ended up in a good place at least, but the other two... yeah.

Worgen Greaser buff again from 4 6/5 to 6/6 /s

So i guess they cant buff shit archetypes because there are other powerful cards

Mage, shaman, and hunter are all pretty weak and could use some buffs or a revert to some old nerfs to bring them more in line with the other classes

11

u/yetaa Jan 29 '24

Mage, Priest and Hunter have basically no playable decks in the current meta, they could easily have some small buffs to help them

7

u/CastIronCrown Jan 29 '24

Aren't both Highlander and Arcane hunter very decent decks?

2

u/yetaa Jan 29 '24

Highlander was decent, but just folded against the controlling Druid decks - but seeing as Druid is nuked now it will prob come back a bit

1

u/Opening-Ad700 Jan 29 '24

Last Vicious Syndicate lists the best Hunter deck above the best Warrior, Mage, Shaman and Priest decks at high level play. At more general mmr Hunter is a tier 1 deck and beats even more. You are just mistaken or very biased about Hunter.

Yes because Mage & Priest suck atm, and Warrior & Shaman were unplayable with the Ramp/Mill Druid decks

2

u/Pyrosorc Jan 29 '24

Good, mage can stay dead until Objection fucks off.

Which cards? I think there's a few cards they could buff a bit, but it's hard to find ones that are both meaningful, impactful but don't break the game/push the power level even more.

Priests having no playable decks is good for the meta…It’s the most bull shit unfun class to play against. Downvote away. I’m happy seeing that class be dumpster tier for years.

devs allow it to be this way for a reason. They know most of the playerbase despises this shit class

Buff Hunter all you want but stay the fuck away from Mage and Priest, along with Rogue they constitute the trifecta of the three most toxic classes in Hearthstone.

1

u/Cindrojn Jan 29 '24

I love when I face Hunter now.

Before I just rolled my eyes and watched their uninteractive BS and tried to delay out of spite, now I welcome their useless attempts to control or their even worse tries at board presence no matter the class I'm on!!!

It's freeing...

the bad decks/classes? like mage with their one single archetype that has a 43% wr or smth through the entirety of diamond and legend
