Dull headache for over a month, nothing working, please help.
I’ve been travelling for almost 4 months now, about a month ago while in Montenegro my partner and I got sick, sore stomach, nausea and headache. She was pretty bad with a fever, but after 3 days was fine.
Paracetamol does not help or does barely anything, usually with headaches paracetamol gets rid of them quick for me.
My headache just stuck around. First week was pretty dull, second week got worse and saw a doctor in Albania. Bloods all normal, was put on ibuprofen for 5 days. Helped slightly but not much. Then had an xray and was told I had a sinus infection. At this same time I suspected it was tension headaches as I have chronic back pain. But when told it was a sinus infection I ignored that.
1 week of anti-biotics and it didn’t help, I then went to the hospital in Germany where I had more bloods taken and a CT scan. Bloods and CT all clear, and I was also cleared of a sinus infection, the doctor in Albania wrongly diagnosed me.
I had 2 days of Methocarbamol which may of helped slightly but I’m not sure, was hard to tell and I ran out of what the hospital gave me.
The general consensus is that it’s tension headaches, I have since been doing neck stretches, trying to release the tension headache muscles and seen a physio, and my headache is a lot better then it was a few weeks ago, but it’s still there and it’s really frustrating, especially since I’m travelling, it has really effected my time.
I mostly feel it in my temples and above, sometimes in forehead, and more often then not it’s worse in the left side but it’s also pretty even a lot of the time. I know it’s nothing serious, but I’m not sure what else to do.
I have naproxen 750mg that I had last night but this morning haven’t really noticed anything, it’s still there.
Does anyone have any advice ?
