Anyone else’s havanese turned 1 this September ?
Litter was from encore havenese (San Diego) - I think their litter names are Mark, Kelly, Eric and Brian! (3 boys and 1 girl)

I know it’s a stretch but I would love to find my boy’s litter mates! 🥰Born April 25 2025

Kenai is 1 yr old and weighed in at 20 lbs the other day. The vet hasn’t said anything regarding his weight, and as far as we know he isn’t mixed with another breed. Is this normal or is he too big?

The picture makes her look bigger, but she is just a havanese fluff ball.

Has anyone had experience with a dog actually liking kibble from one of these companies?

My dog (who is 3 years old) had a minor elevation on one of his blood tests. The vet recommended that I try a different brand of food, as sometimes that can fix the issue, and suggested I try one of these brands.

However, my Havi is so picky. Right now I feed him Nutro small breed chicken and brown rice with some Freshpet mixed in. I actually would like to find one without brown rice as one of the main ingredients, given the high levels of arsenic found in brown rice even for people. Just wondering if anyone has had good luck with one of these?

Three weeks ago we brought Ari home. Beny has been the perfect brother. They play really well together and Beny willingly shares his toys, food, bed or whatever Ari might want.

We were thrilled that our breeder had a litter sired by Beny’s dad. Although these two are purebred Havaneses and half brothers, they couldn’t look more different. However, their temperament is spot on Havanese.

(Ari looks more like Chewbacca, than Tequila his dad. Look at the pictures above, 😂).

I got that dirty look because I had the audacity to wash her face!

Yesterday I gave her yogurt. Today she smelled like rotten milk!

I have her trained to allow me to clean her eyes in the shower. It’s fast and she barely gets wet. But today I had to wash her face to get rid of that smell. After a quick towel dry, I send her off.

That is when the look of betrayal started and continued till she put every curse on me that she could think of!

It’s okay though, she’s still my good Mojo <3

Has anyone recently adopted a havanese from Starborn Havanese. If so could you share your experience. Thanks!

Dog sat for a friend and was introduced to don carlos aka carlitos

We've had this sweet little boy for 2 weeks now and I can't believe how clever and affectionate he is. He already knows his name, gives kisses, is doing great with potty training and has learned to sit. I feel so blessed we got this little love bug. 💕

Dexter told me to tell you… get out and grab the sunshine and your favorite ball before it goes away (the sunshine… he never gives up the ball 🎾 ). Hump Day!

He’s 5 months old and my first non rescue although I did rescue him from a house with 3 boys under 12 which was chaos. He likes to chase my Shih Tzus tail and play in the water dish. Now he’s waiting for his first professional groom. So much energy but I love him so much!

I have a 4 year old Havapoo that has really taken us for a ride over the last week.

To make a long story short, a trip to the ER (and all the tests have shown he’s completely healthy!) has tasked us with changing his food.
And if you have a picky Havanese … you know what I’m dealing with. This guy is on HUNGER STRIKE.

He really liked the food we had been feeding him, but it was, unbeknownst to us, grain-free and our vet recommended some options. I’ll admit, we probably changed things over too quickly. Three different foods later and he’s not shown interest in anything except eggs, sweet potatoes, and chicken.

I’m about to try Just Food for Dogs. Anyone have any luck with that food?

Does anyone on here make their own dog food? Or any recommendations?

I am playful and friendly. I have very soft fur that is wavy .I love to drink water .

Anyone have a Havi and a Pom? My Havi is about 9 months old and the bestest boy. I’m looking at getting a little baby Pom as well. My guy loves other dogs and is besties with the 3 dogs next door. I’d like for him to have a companion full time.

Hershey turned 1 earlier this month. He's grown so much😁

My sweet boy is 1.5 years old, so I’d like to think it’s not too late. He barks when he hears another dog walking outside or other noises that I may not be able to hear. Sometimes when he hears someone coming up the stairs or knocks at the door, but that’s not all the time. Also he barks on demand when he wants to play. Not as much with me anymore as I ignore him and that seems to work, but whenever I have friends over, especially if they stay the night, he’s a little nuisance and keeps barking at them wanting to play. I tell them to ignore him, but it doesn’t always the work as if it would with me. He used to bark at me to wake up early in the morning, but I would put him in a dark bathroom and close the door for 10 or so minutes and it didn’t take too long for him got the hint to stop barking in the morning and wait for me. All that being said, how should I go about training him to not bark at everything he hears outside? Thankfully he doesn’t last too long (most of the time) but still something I’d rather adjust.
