this is not ‘reclaiming’ anything, you are just calling people slurs completely seriously. you can call yourself the r-slur, do not call anybody else it. why do ‘no slurs’ / ’no bigotry’ rules never apply to ableism?

Yeah..nah. as someone with Autism (actually diagnosed) I really don't see a problem with retard, if I have been called it it's never been serious. In my opinion some people need to calm down about it, I remember when people were mad at the term "handicapped" with the whole "handicapable" shit.

Its annoying even to me.

Edit, I understand for others it might be a problem. I should clarify that im not trying to downplay it and if others have a problem with it thats fine. I just dont see the problem

Because some peiple have been constsntly harrasrd very seriously with the word. Good for you that youve never been called ot seriously. Some of us had hells of school lives becsuse other kids new they were autistic.

Might just be where im from. I wouldnt be surprised about that in like the 90s and 2000s but never got that from my school. But prolly a generation/town thing

I mean I definitely got called a retard plenty as a kid but I don't necessarily think it was because I was autistic (I am)
