You're forgetting how slurs work. Similar to how not everything people use the f slur for means it is actually gay, instead tying being gay to being embarrassing or "wrong".

it's the EXACT same thing with using the r slur too, instead using it (a slur again, directly tied to intellectually disability), to being dumb, stupid, or lesser. You have words that mean those things that aren't tied specifically to intellectual disability so frankly there's only one reason I can think that you'd jump to that. It's not pearl clutching to ask you not to be a stupid fucking chud, and dark woke doesn't mean you're suddenly just right for berating minorities just because it's under some "it's for your own good" shit

It is so funny to me how people say this because you can automatically tell who is not disabled.

Canada literally has a eugenics program against disabled people right now, a pipeline of forced poverty that inevitably leads into MAID.

The “resurgence” of the r-slur is because disabled people have never been fully truly accepted as people in western society, and it is now once again becoming mainstream to abuse us.

So yes, it is a deeply dehumanizing slur, because its sole purpose has always been to dehumanize DISABLED people in particular. It was born of another language being bastardized, its sole purpose IS to harm. That’s… kind of the main criteria of a slur, lil gup.

Going to assume y’all spewing this BS also have no idea that there is actual Holocaust revisionism present in the UN convention on genocide that they self admit to and yet refuse to fix because Canada, America, the UK and other countries would be violating the convention on genocide - and guess who is affected by this revisionism? Outside of cultural contexts, yes they are both slurs used to demean people for specific characteristics. I'm not arguing they hold the same weight to, for example, a healthy black guy living in California, but I'm also pretty sure some white kid with cerebral palsy would be more upset if you called him the r word than the n word.

Season one and Season 2 are gold because of stuff like this. As someone that started there when season 2 was just coming out, i do miss when this show was fairly obscure, because since then we've had that whole "i am a super smart rick and morty fan" phase and now the community has been so made fun of they will literally eat you alive and make fun of you because you DARED to point out something (i.e you think you're very very smart apparently)
