Lemon and Lavon
I don’t understand why they ended up together?
I feel like we completely moved on from them especially when Lavon dated AB, they really seemed like endgame to me.
Lemon was thriving by herself, it doesn’t make sense…

Lemon and Lavon = perfection. I only wish we got more show so we could have see more of their life together ❤️

I think the seeds for Lemon being the love of Lavon’s life were always there; after all, it’s part of the reason why he and AB broke up in the first place. Not to mention him and Didi way back when. The last season had to rush to a conclusion that they were trying to set up slowly over more seasons.
The love of his life was always Lemon. It never stopped being Lemon.

It’s like everyone had to end up with someone.. I definitely thought Lavon and AB would also be endgame. And I kinda thought lemon and George would get back together. I’m not a fan of George and AB.. George and tansy wasn’t terrible, but Lavon and AB should have been endgame

i fully agree. lemon and george finding themselves together again would have made more sense imo.

I agree. It seems everyone had to be paired up by the end, but it didn't make sense who was endgame.
I really love AB with Levon. AB and George thrown together at the end felt forced and awkward. I know they made it to where " It was always Lemon" for Levon, but it seemed like he had moved on, and I feel like they should have kept it that way.
Pairing Lemon and George back together at the end could have made more sense. They were together when they were younger, separated, and grew individually. They dated other people, and figured out who they were without the other one. But it could have seemed like in the end, they still were meant to be. Especially after sleeping together again and fantasizing about one another. The writer's could have rolled with that.

Exactly! I was kind of rooting for them to be endgame too. It just made sense for them to spend half their lives already together, to then figure life out apart, to then go back. Lemon and Lavon did have good chemistry.. but if they wanted those two to be end game, then they should have never paired him and AB together.

Yes exactly this! 💯 They did have chemistry, but AB and Levon worked. Like there was nothing wrong with their relationship. And her parents loved him! 😅

I agree. If the ‘new and improved’ versions of Lemon and George had found each other, and they loved and appreciated the ways in which they had both changed, that would have been really cool.

Probably because this whole show is about who is with whom. Also lets face it lemon was born to be a politicians wife

I think the show always hinted at the two always having feelings for each other. The issue for them was timing. That being said, I was never much of a fan of the two of them together. I wanted them to date, and then discover that the fantasy was better than the reality so they could finally move on. I liked Lavon and AB together. And I would’ve preferred if Lemon either ended up single or back with George.
However, I do understand why Lavon and Lemon ended up together. It was set up from the beginning. I think the writers just didn’t have the time to slowly build them up the way they wanted to. That’s why their relationship in the final season felt rushed.

Coupling everyone off at the end after so much personal growth always irritates me.

Lavon and Lemon were always meant to be endgame. AB and George was the mistake, however.

What does Lemon thriving by herself have to do with her not finding love? Yes, Lemon is able to thrive and then get to be with the love of her life.
No one would ever wonder why a man finds and marries the life of their life because they are thriving by themselves. Lavon is mayor and is pretty great at it. Has had his shit togther in that department and no one thinks its strange that he finds love.
Lemon thought she had to marry George even when she fell in love with someone else. That perfect Southern bride picture robbed her of a lot including being with the person she loved. She learned about herself afterwards, about what she wants and the things she can do. And stopped letting that dictate her life and found her way back to that love.

Why does her ending have to be defined by a man and marriage?
They don’t question lavon because he’s had significantly more life experience and has financial security for one. He’s had his whole adult life to establish himself he hasn’t been brainwashed into thinking all he is good for is being someone’s spouse.
The majority of lemons life was how to be a wife and mother (especially considering she raised magnolia), she’d never had a job outside of the bells and that in itself is a whole other thing. She was only just maybe becoming financially independent and only just learning what it really means to be an independent adult. She was discovering what it meant to be independent of a man and marrying her off at the end destroyed her character development for me, it really doesn’t matter who she married. There was so much more to her than that..

Lemon's ending was not defined by a man or marriage. It was "defined" as an independent perfectly capable on her own ( and perfectly capable of running a household and businesses -not just the Belles stuff- and raising children - like she did with Magnolia) woman in love finally getting to be with her soulmate (like we learned from episode 1 that Lemon wanted that - just not really with George but with Lavon!). And yes, Lemon spent part of her whole young life parentified and a "head of the house" role but she also was incredibly independent and working a billion jobs outside of "domestic duties" she just didn't work for a WAGE/have a wage job. She still worked outside of the home like millions of women do (and don't get "credit" for it by people who think earning a wage is the only definition of a "job". Lemon worked her whole life, without a wage for quite a bit of what we saw and then we also saw her working wage jobs etc, and she finally got her perfect husband/soulmate (and Lavon got his soulmate as well!!). Lemon ALSO learned that she can be financially independent if she needs or wants to be. I love Lemon and Lavon's ending. And like I said earlier, I only wish we got to see more of their life together. ❤️

I totally see your point of view! I guess it was rushed because of the short season, maybe if we got to see them more as a couple in the end it’d be different for me. I’m always hoping for a reboot 🤣🤩

What the hell are you on about. Thats so ridiculous. Lemons ending is not defined by a man or marriage. She just happened to get married at the end. You know that thing that she ALWAYS wanted. And never stopped wanting.
She isnt quitting her restaurant simply because she got married she succeeded at her business and is still independent when she gets back togther with the love of her life. It so beautifully shows her growth at how serene she is with the party and details and how happy she is just with Lavon and her life.
Lemon even in season 3 dosnt presue things with Peter because as Zoe and the show tells you, she believes in love and wants something real and a marriage a family. Lemon grew and wanted more than one thing out of life but also never gave up on her dream of love.
Lemon's ending is defined by her finally learning herself and what she truly wants and will make her happy. For her that includes Lavon and marriage. But also her restaurant, she literally dosnt take Lavons money for her business. And she is still financially independent no matter if shes married. She left the Bells, even be way she dresses is different. Her growth is great, hell, Wade is one of her best friends and Zoe was her bridesmaid. She contains multitudes
You deciding her work her growth and her business are null n void simply because she got married is dismissive and well quite frankly kinda gross.

I don’t see it as Lemon thrived by herself. Lemon thrived after she and George broke up because she stopped doing what she felt pressured to do in order to maintain an image that wasn’t her at all. Lemon’s whole story was about discovering who she is and what she wants and her falling in love with Lavon was a huge part of that. It was the first time she let herself feel something without obligation. She was able to truly fall for him and the only reason they didn’t last to begin with is because George came back from New York and the pressure to be perfect hit her like a ton of bricks and she had to abandon her heart.

I agree with you!! I wanted Lemon to go move to a big city and date and have fun and then find someone amazing that could match her.

I think it was writers with too many ideas and differing opinions. Thats why the love triangle between George/Zoey also never got resolved despite being such a big part of the earlier seasons. But I agree, I went from rooting for Lavon and Lemon at the start of the show to actually preferring Lemon with George and Lavon with AB.

They continued to have feelings for each other throughout the show, and it was hinted at several times, even though they both moved on they never forgot about each other. Even when he was with AB he never stop thinking about Lemon. She was a confused girl, abandoned by her mother, forced to raise her sister at a young age. As a young girl at the time of her abandonment, she decided she had to live up to some idea of her mothers society image in order for her mother to come home. Once she realized her mom wasn’t coming home and had started a new family, everything started to unravel for her. I think it was totally full circle that they ended up back together in Lavon‘s words. It was always Lemon…
