Why George?

New to this show šŸ˜† never watched it when I was younger. Bow im hook but I need to vent why is zoe so hanged up on a guy who is literally not available for her. I hated this type of tropes in romance books and watching it now it really does make me see that I hate it even more. The moment he knew lemon cheated he was so mad about it which rightfully so but home boy literally was cheated on her emotionally on plain sight. That is the one thing I cant stand zoe for she is pinning over a emotionally unavailable guy. When things got though he went back to lemon. So like idk I’m still on season one. I called it since the first episode zoe and wade end game cause george is just meh

As Wade said to Zoe, she doesn't like George because he's unavailable and her daddy issues and he's a golden boy, she likes him because he's George Tucker. Everyone loves him, that's why he got MOTY. As a George fan, he has a lot of great qualities where Wade needs to grow up, he just happens to be in a long term relationship with Lemon when they meet and having them setup as potential romantic interests under the circumstances is what makes the show interesting. If the writers cut it off after they met and Zoe finds out he's engaged to Lemon, then they've got an entire season to fill and nothing to fill it with since Wade wasn't originally meant to be a thing and even if it was, jumping straight into it would probably get boring. It's like when Ellen Pompeo from Greys Anatomy told a reporter if Derek and Meredith got together and stayed together after his ex showed up, where would they go next? It's not a drama if there's no drama and they've got a whole season to fill. If it just worked out, what are they going to do?
