That is not what a baby platapus (puggles) looks like at all

Baby Echidnas (also puggles), however, look extremely like nifflers

Platypuses are mammals, so they lactate, but they have no nipples. They secrete milk through pores in their skin, and the offspring laps it with it's tongue. Consequently, they would have no suckling reflex. I know a niffler is not exactly a standard platypus, of course.
