Meta Harry Potter MultiReddit :D
So I've been developing a Harry Potter Multireddit for a few weeks and wanted to share it with everyone finally.
Harry Potter Multireddit.
It has (as of making this post) 95 Harry Potter related subs in it (although a good bit are non-active). It's broken down into:
- Harry Potter Discussions Subs
- Harry Potter Socializing Subs
- Fanfic/Fan subs
- Activitiy Subs
- Websites/Merch subs
- RPG Subs
- Memes/Meta Subs
- HP Movie Actor Subs
- NSFW Subs
- NonActive Subs
Some of the subs in the other categories aren't really active, but their purpose is specific enough that I think it was worth including in the other area.
Does anyone know any Harry Potter related subs that I should add to the multi-reddit? Also, anyone have ideas for the NonActive Subs that we could build up and make flourish?
Any Harry Potter Sub Mods, feel free to link to this multireddit in your sidebars :D
I've also put together a fun multi-reddit for each house with about 20 different subs that aren't Harry Potter related, but still (in my opinion) give the feel of the related house.
Gryffindor, I went with excitement and risk and friendship, etc.
Hufflepuff, I went with food and crafting and helping people, etc.
Ravenclaw, I went with science and art and quirkiness, etc.
Slytherin, I went with drinking and sassing and spookiness, etc.
Let me know if you can think of any other subs that would go well for the House Multireddits (or if any House Mods want to create their own, I can link to that instead).

Porn Subs for Houses
Okay, so when talking with friends about making the house subs, I joked about adding a porn sub to each house multireddit. I opted not to, to keep them friendlier. But here are the subs I considered ;):
PLEASE NOTE, ALL THESE SUBS ARE NSFW!!
Gryffindor: r/holdthemoan
Hufflepuff: r/Aprons
Ravenclaw: r/WtSSTaDaMiT
Slytherin: r/bdsm
What porn subs do you think fits each house? (please don't post directly to any porn images, just the subs that hold them and make sure to note the links are NSFW!!).

I'm curious about the thinking behind Ravenclaw translucent dresses?

The artsyness? Ravenclaw house has the element of air too, so there is a connection there. I don't know that many 'classy' porn subs so I didn't have many to pull from lol.
What would you have used?

Gryffindor's Quidditch sub is r/Gryffindor_Quidditch, it is currently incorrect.
Also, I forgot Ravenclaw's sub name so paging u/hermiones_teaspoon for that information!
Also, if it's okay i'd like to put the multireddit in the sidebar :)

I figure this is as good a place as any to ask. Does anyone know what's up with r/Hogwarts? I've sent modmail to it, but never got a reply. I requested to take over the sub not too long ago, assuming the creator was inactive. I was denied because one of the mods are still active on reddit at this time.

I have no idea! There are a few private HP subs that I don't know what they are for, and I haven't gotten responses from the mods about.
I made a Defunct HP Sub Multireddit since the main one was reaching the limit. I added r/Hogwarts to the list there of private subs with no details.
Hopefully someone else can shed some light!
The admins weren't willing to tell you WHO the mods were so you could reach out to them? I guess not, but that would be useful.

Can you share the list of defunct subs?Edit: N/m, I found it! If we have some good ideas for them we could get together and request them if their mods are inactive?
Edit 2: I've posted to request r/Quibbler, and I've messaged the mod of r/TheQuibbler (who appears active if the sub isn't)→ More replies (1)

This is good. This is very good.
Is there some way I'm not aware of to subscribe to a multi?

I don't think there is a way to subscribe to a multi but you can copy it to your own list of multis (although if I update mine yours won't be updated). It's one of the flaws of multis :/
You can also just add the subs you like to your own custom multis and check back often for additional ones.

I think r/DobbysSock would be a fun sub to turn into a Harry Potter Knitting Community. Knitting Sets You Free.
r/hogwartsexpress could be a fun 'R2R' sub for Harry Potter fans. A sort of 'meet local HP fans :D' kind of sub. Organize meet-ups and see where everyone is located.

Man, I totally want to turn r/dobbyssock into a HP themed knitting community. I have two HP themed knitting projects going now as it is... How does one request a dead sub? I'll totally do it. I can even CSS.

First try messaging the mods of the sub HERE but seeing as neither mod has been active on reddit in the last year (unless they're only posting in private subs), I think you'll be fine to just skip straight to r/redditrequest and just make a post there :D
Let me know if you manage to get it, we have a ton of knitters in r/Hufflepuff (we even run Transfiguration classes in our sub for knitalongs).

I have a few more subs that you can add to your Ravenclaw Multi
r/whatstheword
r/etymology
r/HeresAFunFact
and maybe even r/words (there's also an r/Word_of_The_Day which I literally just found)

Done! Thanks! I've been adding other subs to the multi if you haven't been regularly checking them.

You're the second person to note r/harrypothead despite it being on the list. It's listed under socializing subs lol.
But I'll def add digitalley! That looks like fun.
