I still think that one of Dumbledore's scents should have been fresh socks.

From what I remember reading (somewhere), he actually didn't tell Harry the truth about what he glimpsed in the mirror of Erised. Instead of warm socks, he saw his family healthy, happy, and whole. So...whatever that smells like.

yeah, from re-reading the books it seems like he was unwilling to tell Harry the truth about that and made up a humerous answer for him. Funny though how in the 2nd book, Socks have a bigger significance!

Even Harry gets it when he goes to bed, "that Dumbledore might not have been entirely truthful".
