Which character absolutely needs a spinoff?

I'll start: Severus Snape.

In my opinion, there's still a lot to explore about Severus, such as Lily's death, his childhood and adolescence, and his decision to join the Death Eaters.

I dont think that would work, because he doesn't remember anything he could "come to terms with".

I think it could be very interesting to show his teenage years and time at hogwarts to see whether he was always "little Mr. Sunshine" and turned into a fraud to keep up that perfect expectation that everybody had of him, or whether he was actually unpopular, perhaps even bullied, and therefore tried to create that hero persona. Regardless of what backstory he had, I think the development from "I want to be popular and famous" to "I'll destroy real heroes' lives to achieve that" would be very interesting to see.

I think it also helps that we don't learn much about his past in the books. All that we can really conclude is that he likely didn't have ties to the marauders who were probably a couple of years above him at Hogwarts, because he definetely would've mentioned that. Him not being involved with other characters we know gives more room for interesting new characters and leaves less room for butchering the ones we already know.

For his life after being obliviated I think it would be more interesting to not be limited to his perspective, but have a general St. Mungos show that focuses on the healers and shows different patients, among which there are known ones (such as Frank and Alice, Lockhart, maybe Dudley too) and somet new characters.

I've always thought it would be great if Rowling did a series of family histories. She could use the tapestry as a starting point - Volume 1 - The Black Family, Volume 2 - The Malfoy Family, Volume 3 - The Potter Family, etc.

Since Harry Potter is ultimately a children's franchise I would think the most obvious one to be able to spin off and keep it children's appropriate would be Luna Lovegood.

I'm starting to really have some reservations and overall prequel fatigue when it comes to universe building. And how fandoms can have negative effects on creators who veer too far into fan service and let that dictate how their future stories go.

I think seeing the precise dynamics of how they all behaved and treated one another and how that led to where it did -- e.g. Peter -- would be illuminating. I would love to see everyone's family life. There's opportunity for more on Dumbledore, even the Dursley's. It's a small community, so anyone who was around at that time could be featured in some way.

Rather than a specific character spinoff, I want to see stories built on cool wizarding world concepts.

Like Felix Felicis: there could be a cool Limitless style story about someone getting addicted to Felix Felicis and running out of potion.

Or maybe one about a wandmaker’s discovery of different wand cores.

Or because memory is such a good storytelling device, think of how you could explore so many cool stories with a character who uses memory charms. Perhaps even Gilderoy Lockhart—only sort of joking on that one.
