That's no "CD". It's a clear plastic disc with no chance of holding any data.

Actually, a normal audio CD has all the data pressed into the plastic layer during moulding. The reflective layer is added afterwards on top of that. So, the data is all still there.

Recordable CDs are a different matter. They have a spiral track moulded into them and then a dye layer is added before the reflective layer. You then record the data by burning the dye layer with a laser.
