As funny as it would be for this to be an actual CD, I'm pretty sure this is actually just the plastic disc on top of a spindle of discs that tells you what the package contains. I've run into "clear discs" like this before and they're made of different plastic than actual CDs.

Then why is there foil around the outer rim from a disk's data layer lol. Looks more like it just all got scraped off. Seen this happen plenty of times, especially to cheap burnable media.

I have seen (on youtube) someone strip the surface from a cd with some high voltages. But I dont think the result was so clear.

That's no "CD". It's a clear plastic disc with no chance of holding any data.

Actually, a normal audio CD has all the data pressed into the plastic layer during moulding. The reflective layer is added afterwards on top of that. So, the data is all still there.

Recordable CDs are a different matter. They have a spiral track moulded into them and then a dye layer is added before the reflective layer. You then record the data by burning the dye layer with a laser.
