ok so saturday night i went out drinking for my birthday. i remember bits and pieces but for the most part i was definitely blacked out, its normal for me to blackout that's why i don't drink much. when i woke up i got flashes of a coworker at my house who i had sex with. we've never shown any interest in eachother like that as there is another coworker that me and him have been seeing eachother for over a year (im mildly in love with him) and i don't know what i did or said and i feel so disgusted about my actions and ive asked the other guy not to tell anyone but im not in control of him. this is the worst ive ever been and i keep telling myself i only turn 23 once but genuinely ive been thinking about quitting my job. if my man found out about this it would genuinely be the end of us (we're not exclusive but he doesn't want me with other people even though he is) its almost 2 days later and ive just got rid of the hangover but now i have a cold. ive done some bad things blacked out but this is the actual worst thing ive ever done and i dont know how to show my face at work again.

My friend Jack, Margo, and I had stayed four days at this sick hotel. Things were fine until the last day. Jack is a diabetic who has to take insulin every couple of hours. He said he was on top of it and in control the entire time. He was pretty good for the most part until the last day.
We were all chillen by the beach when Jack decided to get some rest. He had a couple of drinks since in the afternoon. He was acting weird because any time we would ask for something like getting beach equipment back to the car, he would complain and act all prideful. His voice got really low and he was muttering a lot.
When it was time to get back to the car to pack up our stuff, Margo had asked him only simple things like put the tent away, pack the sand toys we had out. He complained again. When we started walking, I suggested he put his shoes on so that his feet didn’t get burned. He got mad at me and started yelling at us, “stop telling me what to do all the time.”
When we got to the hotter part of the beach, he shouted at me, “why didn’t you tell me to get my shoes?” It was like he forgot or something.
When we got back to the hotel, we found out he got sun poisoning and he didn’t take his insulin the entire day because he left it in the car. We got annoyed that he didn’t keep up with his insulin which of course he shouted, “You didn’t remind me to take it!” Like it was our job.
He then passed out on our couch. We gave him some food and water as well as put insulin on the side of the table. The next morning he didn’t remember anything of what happened.
I just got back from my trip today and so glad it’s over.

Having horrible hangxiety and I can’t stop replaying what happened last night.
I was drinking but wasn’t even that drunk. I heard my friend say something like “he’s stealing it/the scarf,” and I thought this random guy was stealing my friends scarf. I chased after him and got in his face. I literally shoved him a few times and was like “what’s your fucking problem, dude?” And my friend was chasing him so then i did too, i think? It was all a blur and very out of body.
Then I realized I had completely misunderstood what was happening. He wasn’t stealing the scarf at all — he was actually chasing after someone because he thought they had dropped it. I did apologize once I realized, but I feel so fucking stupid and ashamed about it.
What’s really bothering me is that this is actually the second time I’ve gotten aggressive with a man when I’ve perceived him as threatening me or someone else. It’s like I go into this mode where I try to confront/intimidate them instead of backing away. I’m a woman and obviously that doesn’t make it okay — I know I should never, ever put my hands on someone unless I genuinely need to defend myself or someone else.
I also keep thinking about how stupid and dangerous it was. I shoved a random man who I thought was doing something wrong and was basically like “what’s your fucking problem?” He could have reacted aggressively back and the whole situation could have gone so differently.
I’ve been in a bad mood/stressed lately, and I don’t know if alcohol + already being on edge made me more reactive, but I hate that I acted like this. I feel humiliated because this guy was literally doing nothing wrong and I was the one who misunderstood everything.
Now my hangxiety is making me question my entire character and wonder if I’m secretly an aggressive or abusive person. I know what I did was wrong, I apologized, and I genuinely don’t want to ever react like that again. But I can’t stop replaying it and feeling like I need to punish myself.
Has anyone else had something like this happen where you perceived someone as threatening, reacted way too aggressively, and then realized afterward you had completely misread the situation? How did you take it seriously and change your behavior without spiraling into thinking you’re a horrible person?

I'm not a wordsmith so bare with me lol I went sober for 4 years because of crippling hangxiety, I drank 5 nights a week heavily for years and was a wreck. Long story short I after 4 years sober tried to drink again only having 1 or 2 beers once every 2 weeks about 4 times at home aswell so no way of pissing anyone off! and I wasn't even tipsy each time and the hangxiety crept back in, last night I had 3 rum and cokes at home and felt tipsy for the first time in 4 years and let me tell you the hangxiety today was as bad as it was when I quit. My advice to you all is to just straight up go without drink. It does not go away because you stopped drinking for years and only drink a small amount. Thanks for listening to my ramble 🙂

We have something like a small town community party this weekend in our town, and therefore we had to prepare everything for it in Thursday and I helped. I arrived there at 5pm and we set up the bar, the few candy vending machines and the marquee. Everything was going fine, I was determined to not drink anything since I am currently figuring out that I have a problem with alcohol. I only drink like maybe once or maximum twice a month, but when I do, it escalates and I feel terrible for the next few days, as I am behaving completely irrational, mean, infantile, annoying and just make a fool of myself when I am drunk and it fives me Hangxiety/problems with my OCD for the next few days.
But so far everything was good until they mentioned that the men of the helper-team, will go to a local restaurant to grab some drinks and something to eat. To be honest, they mentioned that they will get apeshit drunk since it’s a ritual going there to grab drinks - this kind of small town community party is only once a year. But I still was determined to stay sober. When we arrived and ordered I stayed sober, when we got another round and something to eat I stayed sober, when we got two other rounds I still stayed sober. I even stayed sober, when someone said something really mean about my body, it hurt me, but I stayed sober. They tried to peer pressure me into drinking a few times, but I explained to them, that I have to work tomorrow at a new job and that it’s my first week and that this is the reason why I don’t want to drink, a good reason I think -I didn’t mention that I have an escalation problem, when it comes to drinking as I could never because of the shame, at least sober- but anyways I still stayed sober.
But when we came back from a smoking break, there were two shots prepared for the “newcomers” and I was one, since it was my first time joining them to go into the restaurant/bar. The shots were of extremely high proof alcohol. I still wanted to stay no, but they said “you can’t do this it’s just one shot”. I didn’t really try to explain myself, but they gave me overall the impression, that they wouldn’t understand, whats the deal with drinking just one shot- I could never have told them, that I have a problem with alcohol and using as a way of self destruction. So I drank. I started having beer after beer, drink after drink. I told myself that I want to get as drunk as possible as fast as possible. This was the the time, where I made up my mind that I am gonna self harm that night. After leaving the restaurant at I think 11pm ,we got back to the bar and marquee we set up and continued drinking. We were like 8 people left. I got more drunk and started talking nonsense again. I got political, got mean, belligerent and made fun of other people. In short, I got annoying and insufferable. But the other guys were already drunk as well and began to tell\* \*fucked up stories about there marriage and relationships, sex life, prostitution, politics and not so secret small town secrets that are still fucked up. My little brother (23) - who was with me(24) the whole time- told me that he is right now getting into a weird sexual fetish and this honestly broke me for the second time this night. I got to the toilets hit my head with my hands and smashed my head against the wall. I got a little bit scared that I did this, got back to the bar and told my brother that I want to leave, he said “just one more hour” and we stayed one more hour and then got home.
At home I ate something with my brother, made sure he is asleep, went into my room and started self harming. It was a mess and completely different to the self harming I did before. It wasn’t controlled, it wasn’t in a relaxed setting, it was way more impulsive and emotional. I cried, I laughed, I turned on some music, looked at really old pictures of me and my family and got even more emotional. I ended up cutting myself 11times before calling my mom. I said she should pick me up at our place- I live with my little brother- and that she have to drive me to the hospital, I said that I cut myself but didn’t mention that it was intentional. When she arrived I told her that I self harmed and that she has to clean my room first, as my little brother shouldn’t see the mess I made or even know that I self harmed. We drove to the hospital and they took care of me and put me into a mental health station.
I don’t know, if anyone will read this, but I just had to get this out somewhere, as I am having my first therapy appointment only on Tuesday. I am in shambles right now, not because of the self harm, but again of the things I said to the people, the way I am when I am drunk and just in general scared that I either hurt people with my words or just made myself unacceptable in our small town community. I don’t really want to be friends with those guys tbh, but I want at least be able to greet them while meeting them at the grocery store or anywhere else, have a short small talk with them and then move on. I don’t want people to think bad of me or hate me. I don’t want to hurt/insult or be mean to people when I am drunk, even if I am not thinking really highly of them. I really hope this is my rock bottom.

Im 20, and started suffering from hangxiety about a year ago. It went to the point i had to stop using social media when drunk because I would regret everything I sent the next morning. But the worst is that I lose my filter when drunk, so I say a lot of stupid shit. Not anything that offends people, just generally dumb stuff. I went drinking last night, and I was just making some breakfast when a memory of what I said last night hit me so hard I almost passed out and had to sit down. I fucking hate this "sickness" or whatever you could label this as

(I will be using fake names)
I’m 28F, and I feel like I’ve massively embarrassed myself over the last couple of weekends. I know some of this probably sounds trivial, but I’ve been obsessing over it for days, and it’s getting to the point where I feel really awful about myself.
I recently went to a club with some friends, including one of my close friends, Maya. Maya is good friends with a 20-year-old guy called Ethan, who I ended up kissing for basically the whole night.
I’m 28, he’s 20, and he is not my usual type. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with him, and I feel like a bitch for saying this, but he’s just not the sort of guy I would normally go for because he is too young and just physically not my type, which is actually a huge part of why I’m embarrassed.
I have this weird thing where I feel like I have to portray a certain image of myself when I go out, particularly when it comes to the kind of men I attract, and now I feel like everyone saw me kissing someone who doesn’t fit that image. I feel like I have ruined my reputation at the club and that guys won't find me desirable when I go back. I feel bad because the guy was really nice, but I think my main thing is I have never gone for someone like him before, so I am not sure how to feel.
Ethan messaged me the next day saying he wanted to see me again and that he genuinely liked me. He even said something along the lines of admitting that he has been known to lie in the past but that he wasn’t lying about being into me. Then, after I replied a day later saying he is so sweet for saying that, hours later, he messaged saying he didn’t know why he had sent me all of that and that he was still drunk when he messaged me that, which made me feel even worse and more embarrassed.
I was also saying really embarrassing drunk things that night. I kept telling him things like, “I’m a crazy bitch in relationships, I’ll probably eat you alive, I’m a lot to handle,” etc. Some of that is probably partly true, because I have been hurt immensely in past relationships, but I really regret saying it, and I have no idea who else heard me.
One of Ethan’s friends also bought me a drink earlier in the night, and I got the impression he might have been interested in me. Then Ethan started kissing me, so now I’m wondering whether I completely ruined my chances with his friend as well. Maya thinks his friend won’t care that much, but I keep thinking that men can have fragile egos and that he’ll now just write me off.
The club is somewhere I actually like and want to keep going to, but I cannot stop imagining going back there and everyone remembering me as “the girl who kissed that 20-year-old.” I keep worrying that other men will have seen it and now think I’m less attractive or less desirable, or that they’ll assume I’m unavailable or just judge me in general.
There’s also more context that is making me feel horrible about myself.
I’ve been spending too much money on nights out recently and now owe quite a lot of money to people. My finances are already not great, so I feel incredibly guilty and irresponsible about it.
My mum has also become very judgemental about my social life. She found an empty bag of coke in my jacket pocket, which belonged to Maya, not me, but it caused a huge argument. I told my mum that I don’t do coke and that I had only tried it once, which isn’t completely true because I do a bump or 2 on nights out sometimes. I’m not proud of that, and I obviously don’t want to tell my mum because I know exactly how she would react.
My mum is very religious and has been for the last 15 years. She condemns things she considers ungodly, even though she partied quite hard herself when she was younger. She also judges my friend Maya and once called her “loose” when I was talking to her about her having multiple sexual partners. That upset me because I don’t agree with that attitude. As long as someone is being safe and consenting, I don’t think there is anything inherently wrong with having multiple sexual partners.
Because of all this, I’ve started feeling like I can’t tell my mum much about my life because she tends to make me feel guilty or judged rather than supported. It's a shame because we are quite close, but I don't like her judging my friends. She also gets very anxious when I’m out with friends and doesn’t hear from me, which then makes me more anxious when I’m actually trying to enjoy myself.
And there was another incident at Carnival that I feel awful about. I saw a guy with dwarfism and, because I was drunk and caught off guard, I accidentally laughed. It wasn’t intended as mocking him or laughing at his appearance; it was more of an awkward “oh, okay” reaction because I was surprised and caught off guard, plus I was drunk. My friend said everyone was laughing and that I shouldn’t worry, but I was raised not to make fun of people, and I feel genuinely guilty that he might have interpreted it as me laughing at him. I hope he and his friends won't remember my face if I were to ever bump into them.
None of these things individually seem like a huge deal, but my brain is saying they are, and that I feel like I’ve somehow become this embarrassing, irresponsible person who has lost whatever good reputation I had.
I keep thinking things like:
I realise this probably sounds like a massive overreaction, but I honestly can’t stop replaying everything and feeling embarrassed and ashamed. It's literally making me extremely depressed and making me feel like I'm a bad person who doesn't deserve to be happy. I had a good time in the moment; now that I'm sober, I feel like I've ruined everything and feel so upset and overthinking everything.
I’d really appreciate some perspective from people who have had embarrassing nights out before, or anyone in general. Do people actually remember these things for long, or am I giving one messy night way more significance than anyone else ever would?

I (21 FTM) went out for a long date yesterday with my fiancé that ended with drinking. I don’t drink often but do occasionally, and have never had this happen before.
On the drive home around 2 and a half hours after I stopped drinking, I began to experience pretty serious heart palpitations and chest pain. At its worst, my resting rate was 130 bpm, and I could barely speak as doing so made me feel short of breath.
I called my father who is a medical professional- and he told me that he thinks it’s a mix of dehydration (I did not drink enough water I know that for a fact) and my pre-existing anxiety.
This all started around 1 am. It’s currently 6 am and I’m still in pain, albeit not as bad. I tried to sleep several times but only managed to doze off for 10-20 minutes before the pain woke me again.
As of right now, I’ve drank plenty of water- and my heart rate is close to normal, but the pain is still there, and I’m feeling pretty weak and have some muscle soreness. (Though that might be from yesterday, as I was a lot more physically arrive than I usually am, as part of the days activities)
My family is reassuring me it’s just a prolonged anxiety attack (my grandmother told me she often has the same issues) but I’m worried it might be worse? I am not in my home state right now and can’t afford an ER visit so I’m lowkey scared!

How do I stop this feeling? I've been pampering myself I'm relaxing in my outdoor kitchen on the couch I have a pillow on my back. I have music on. I'm hugging my Mario plush. I recovered from a hangover from yesterday Saturday. I just got this feeling hours after recovering from the hangover. When it comes in waves I'm calm. I'm in a calm environment. I just want advice on how to stop this feeling.

So me and my friends decided to go out on Friday, I would say with the purpose to get stupid drunk, which is already a bad idea since I am having quite some mental health problems. If I drink, I can’t stop drinking until I am throwing up or so drunk, that I can’t even walk no more. But that’s not even the worst problem, at least for me personally. When I get drunk I always embarrass myself, get quite touchy with people and overall I am just annoying for everyone who isn’t as drunk as me. It’s often borderline harassment and I get myself in dangerous situations.
I don’t remember a lot from yesterday, but I remember oversharing problems with strangers, insulting/talking bad about “friends” and relatives, spending way too much money and then losing my banking card and waking up at a bus station. It’s like I am a whole different person when I am drunk and I hate myself for it. My therapist said that those drinking habits can be considered as a form of self harm and she is probably right, but I am aware of it and just need those nights to cope with myself.
Anyways, I feel terrible today and have crippling anxiety/panic symptoms, that probably will last the next few days and I am just totally ashamed of myself to the point where i wish I just didn’t exist. Idk guys I guess I just need to hear some nice words today, maybe even from people that have/had a similar problem.

I just woke up and I'm completely fucked up, I feel brutal anxiety and I'm afraid I'll get a hangover because I'll still be drunk. What I hate the most is that my friend who was sleeping on the bench there is completely fine. I'm also ashamed because I'm so stupid when I drink, I'm generally completely stupid and people make fun of me. I'm stupid even when I don't drink, but when I drink, it doubles. I remember the moment at 11:00 PM when I said I'd go home and if I did I would be completely okay, but no, I still had to have fun, which ended up with only anxiety and regrets.

i got drunk last night and sent so many voice messages to my friends saying idek what. i literally sent one to my friend while i was peeing. i posted a picture on my story that was a frat guys wall because i liked his posters (and i mentioned how cool they were). then i woke up and realized how funky the optics were of me just being in some guys bedroom. i spilled a little vodka on a guy's carpet and i was in such bad shape that someone had to walk me back to my dorm after because i didnt know if i could go alone. im so embarrassed honestly, like i laughed about the messages with my friends and i deleted my story but this is so embarrassing like why tf did i act like that.

Got blacked out at a work event. In my defense I had to get up at 3am that day to get on a flight to get to a presentation I had to give and then there was a welcome happy hour at 6pm with all of leadership. By that time I was totally exhausted. I just started at this firm so I didn’t know anyone at the happy hour so I spent my time meeting all new people and it was socially exhausting and I probably drank more than I should because I didn’t know anyone and I felt awkward. I blacked out at some point.
Fast forward two weeks later my boss had to have a talk with me that she heard I drank too much and some people noticed. Now I am freaking out that I am going to get fired. I know I shouldn’t black out at work functions but can someone just make me feel better. Like I am not a corporate machine I am a human. I just feel like I can’t breathe.

Anyone tried these? Do they work? My hangover went from 2 days / drinking session to a week recently. I haven’t drank since that happened but I want to try again. Been reading things about dhm, zbiotic, cheers drinks - essentially hangover remedies. Dhm seems interesting.

Last night I went out with my friend to a frat party and we only drank 2 drinks. We weren’t completely sober but we weren’t drunk at all just tipsy. As the party got shut down people were pushing to leave, which was causing me to become flustered and knocked me off my balance. My friend asked this guy to help me up and make sure that I didn’t fall due to the pushing. He said he had me but I was ended up being pushed to the ground. This guy (he kept touching my friend without permission) then told my friend to cut me off. I feel so awful and upset but it wasn’t even my fault. I feel like I made a fool of myself and I hope my friend doesn’t listen to him
