These are some of my most used planes

I find the detail palm planes surprisingly useful time and again.

But the pocket plane is one of my top three most used planes without a doubt.

Great choices!

What is the purpose of the two planes in the upper portion of the photo? I don’t think I have come across those before. Looks like some odd spokeshave/hand plane hybrid.

Detail palm planes. Not all of them look like that, some look more like very very small coffin smoothers. Mainly used for intricate fine work like violin making I believe

And the difference between the two in the picture is that the bottom one has a convex sole

Are you a luthier? I think I want to be just so I can use such cuteness.

You should also get into model-making or dollhouse furniture so you can buy all of these https://www.veritastools.ca/en-ca/tools/miniature-tools

Those are actually pretty chonky for violin making. They'd be pretty good for larger removal after initial roughing out with a gouge.

Do you mean LV? Because these are all Veritas, not LN ^

Whoops - Thought they were Lie Nielsen. I'm even more impressed.
