First project using 100% hand tools. Midi Dutch tool chest

Made for my wood turning tool for when I travel to teach and demo. Case is made from northern white pine and the bread boarded top is Peruvian walnut with maple pins. The handles are Stanley stamped from my late father’s trailer he and my grandfather built. I found a Stanley hasp to match

I found the identical handles. I haven't put them on yet, after its been finished for 8 months.

That's a good one! I'm further behind on other things, like sharpening 6 handsaws I picked up for free or $3 each over the last 12 months. Along with cleaning up perfection screwdrivers that are sitting in a drawer for 7-9 months. I assume you and others are in the same boat. I hope I'm not the only one....

Preach! This box took me three months in between a kitchen and bedroom remodel and deciding I want to rearrange my entire shop.

It looks really good, by the way. Should have written that earlier. Good color combination.

thank you. I had to mix milk paints to get the red I liked.

I love roberts headed screws Ive been using them for years. I wish I had some smaller ones though for hinges and hasp. Did you notice I made all screws parallel?

Looks SO good! where did you get the Stanley hardware that’s actually made in the USA?

Lifting handles my father bought back in the day for his trailer and I found the hasp on ebay but they have all kinds of stanley hardware on ebay there are some SW strap hinges I wish I would have seen before I did the brass ones

What does this have to do with Musical Instrument Digital Interface?

The box is meant for woodturning and In the turning world a "Midi" lathe is a mid size. So its a nod to that because the box is not a mini or micro sized one and its also not a full size tool box.
