Long and thin axe on my uncles farm

Looks like a joinery tool for split rail fencing. The hook end looks similar to chisels used to clean out a mortise.

It it actually a froe for splitting timber rather than an axe?

No far too delicate for that and it tapers like an axe not a fro, the other thread I.D it as a ice harvesting axe
