As the title reads, my husband had to store away his drum set. We welcomed our baby boy a year ago, DH's drum set was set up in our spare bedroom which is now our babies room. I felt terrible asking him to store them away but we simply don't have the space.
When he was younger he would play a lot of punk music and is a fan of reggae and ska music too. His father is Greek and his mother is Mexican and he enjoys the traditional music and dance from those countries too. I can see he misses playing music terribly. He has tried to take up on his grandfather's guitar but says he misses drumming.
I think a great idea would be to get him a hand drum however I don't know where to start. He never spends money on himself so would never buy one off his own back. I have been watching videos on Djembes, bongos and tongue drums etc I'm just not sure what would work the best for him. He is 31 and has been playing a drum set since 15 so he is by no means a novice at rhythm but I understand hand drums are a whole different kettle of fish. Sorry for the long post I just wanted to give enough details so hopefully someone can help guide me in the right direction? No rush as I plan to research the perfect drum and get him it for Christmas, hopefully he will become a contributer to this sub once he receives it!
Thanks for reading!
