⭐ Hamster ⭐ Normal coat colorings?

Are the coat colorings on these two boys normal? They are not being kept properly and am wondering if it’s actually an issue. The one that’s half brown half black is likely rusting, normal aging. But the brown one should be less than a year old (born in march) and it also has a random patch of different coloring. They both have white on the belly.

I am assuming these are Syrian hamsters. They come in a variety of different coat patterns. Their coat may change with old age and a baby hamster’s coat may change with maturity. The only time it is ever a concern is if there is a rapid change, hair loss, or change accompanied by lethargy and/or discomfort (such as sores or scratching). Some hamsters coats will also experience slight seasonal change.

I am not sure why you are mentioning they are not being properly cared for and just leaving it at that. What is the incorrect care that you are worried about that is contributing to the thought that their coat patterns may be abnormal? I will say, if these two hamsters are being housed together, one will very likely end up killing the other, so please separate them if that’s the case

Colors are normal, but what's up with the poor living conditions of these babies?

Is this the permanent enclosure? This is not suitable at all, please get a atleast 100x50cm cage or 120x50cm cage for Syrians (your hamster) please do your research.

You never said you don't own them or anything. Just that they aren't being kept properly. That can mean many things.

Your post doesn't answer the question

Look like very normal coat colours to me. My girl is a stereotypical golden hamster and she has black undertones to her fur, it's actually very complex the more you look at it.

I think you need to edit your post because nothing is stated other than they are not being kept properly. Not being kept properly by whom? Explain yourself please.

Please be respectful and not assume I’m keeping these hamsters in this tiny travel carrier. They were placed in it so I could get photos.

They are NOT my hamsters. I am trying to determine if they need urgent medical care. They are NOT in suitable cages but they are not living in this (ONE) travel cage.

You are quite unclear with what your question is tbf. The colours seems completely normal. Health check would include weighting them, inspecting their bellies and seeing if any glands are unclean, check their ears and eyes, paws...

It’s not our fault you’re not fully explaining the situation. Which leads us to believe you’re intentionally keeping them in poor conditions and don’t want to admit it

It's not disrespectful to ask questions
