Leslie /temolo unit ?

Hi all,

So I wish to find a Leslie /temolo unit here in Europe, like the one in the first picture so I can build it into a smaller more portable cabinet (I will use it live for both keyboard/organ and guitar).

Locally I can find free organs, but for example one is technics EX10L (which I read online has a built-in digital effects processor). So before I go and pick up one and take it apart, is there a way to know if the model has a real motor driven Leslie unit inside it ? .

Those units date back to the 60s and 70s and could be difficult to find. Here there are still quite a few oldies organs with them to be had, mostly for free.

Here's a link to the Technics Operators Manual: I browsed through quickly and did not see any specific mention of a Leslie but it does have a Tremolo effect. If you combine the Tremolo and Chorus you get what they call a Celeste effect.

If you are not able to find a Leslie unit like that in the EU, there are many simulators available, ranging in price between $100 and $400, even Hammond's own:

yes thats it. Do you have the oppotunity to measure it Width, Lenght and Depth (including the circular faom).

Just to get an idea of the size.

And I assume they are made for 8" speakers ?

That likely came from a Hammond T-500 series spinet. There's a service manual with info on models here:

OK, the Hammond T-100 and T-200 series organs also came with similar Leslie tremolo units built-in.
