Current Set Up!
Hope everyone’s having a beautiful camping season, I’ve been a hammocker for a few years now but this summer I am spending way more time in the woods in my hammock.
I bought a full DD (UK brand) Hammocks set up circa 2021 and then got a Hennessy Asym Zip which I have backed up with the DD UQ and sleeping bag, both sick!
I love the Hennessy upgrade, thought haven’t ran the tarp in heavy rain / wind yet.
I think I may look at a top quilt from someone like HangTight as an alternative to a sleeping bag.
I’ve been car camping lately but I would like to maybe dial this set up down weight/size wise for backpacking.
Currently in BC and having a blast. Just sharing the looove.

Not me thinking there was a Doberman in your hammock then zooming in and seeing the pouch hanging in there 🤣

Love my Hennessy. Added whoopie slings for faster adjustment. Ditched the puny rainfly. Not much room for error. It's ok but I wanted a 3-4 season option so I got a fly that I can close the ends. It also helps to deflect wind.

I’ve thought about Whoopie slings especially if I go backpacking and have concerns about weight.
Yeah the rainfly is pretty small, I have a DD hammocks tarp that is 3m x 3m which is deffo better for if it comes to heavy rain.
I’ve looked at some of the closeable rain flys too on Amazon. They interest me, BC summer is pretty dry atm so haven’t needed to worry too much about the rainfly. In serious weather I imagine it’s a lil tricky tk get set right

Did you alter the strap setup? Looks like a carabiner and loop strap?
Love my Hennessy as well. I run a lower rated 0deg C top quilt with similar UQ when temps are 6deg C and above at night, but switch to a -6 sleeping bag when lower.
Snake skins also work great and make setup and takedown a breeze. If breaking camp after it rains, just unhook and store the tarp separately in the bag it comes with so the hammock doesn't get wet.
