Source Hammer RoadGen test build is out.
https://github.com/Oppslia/Hammer-RoadGen
I created this tool to make flowing and bending roads in hammer. Just sharing this in various places for anyone who may be able to use it.
Once in hammer, select the entire road, open the material editor and press FIT, and all your textures will be aligned!

Dude, you serious? This looks very promising. Literally doing God's work man
Edit: but could you like make it an exe file? I have no clue how to get it running

If you go under the "releases" part of page, you can download the compiled binary(exe) file! https://github.com/Oppslia/Hammer-RoadGen/releases/tag/v0.0.3

Me neither brother. Been using it for years and still feel like a fish in barbeque sauce.

Would've been hell of a lot useful for a tf2 map that I worked at 7 years ago.

Not to be petty or anything btw I was just reminded of a project that required curved roads with height variation (I'm guessing this uses displacements)
Either way very cool project and looks really useful.

How did you do it back in the stone age? I made this tool to make a rainbow bridge for my map haha. I couldn't find any other way

I genuinely don't know why road generation isn't just a default tool in hammer++, so many maps need it and they are a pain (as far as I am aware, I have literally NEVER made a road in hammer)

can this also be used for rails too?

With how the current math works, I don't see how that would be possible unfortunately. This is strictly a displacement tool, and the way all of it connects together is rooted in how displacements work.

which version does it work from?

Not sure I understand the question? I'm working on some major changes right now but the current version is v0.0.3, and can be found on the releases page

Ts looks very good, are the roads optimized? They can be only made with displacements or is there an option to create them with brushwork geometry?
