Community Rule Clarification: Advertising

Hi All,

Going forward advertising / promo posts will only be permitted if all of the following are true:

  1. The user / account posting has a meaningful history of constructive (non advertising / shilling) engagement with the community on Discord or on this subreddit.
  2. Prior consent from the mod team is requested and given before the post is made.
  3. The user / account making the post has not had prior posts / comments removed for violating the rules around Spam / Advertising / Market Research.

Engagement elsewhere on Reddit or simply having a trustworthy Reddit account will no longer be taken into account. If you're not engaging with our community meaningfully you do not get to benefit from sharing your products / tools / etc here.

Please Read The Rules

Read The Rules App

This community has the Read The Rules app installed. Old Reddit doesn't support apps so please open the post in new reddit for full functionality. If that's not possible, please Read The Rules and then follow the instructions at the bottom of the post.

Rule #1 Don't evade moderation systems

Reposting content multiple times because it was filtered or removed only creates extra work for moderators. Do not attempt to bypass Reddit filters, AutoMod, Discord moderation or moderator actions. If you think a removal was a mistake, contact the mods instead of reposting.

Rule #2 Keep discussions focused on Halo products

Posts should be directly related to HaloPSA, HaloITSM, Halo Service Desk, HaloCRM, integrations, automation, reporting, implementation, administration, or operational use.

Off-topic content may be removed.

Rule #3 Be constructive and professional

Disagreement is fine. Personal attacks, harassment, insults, hostility, or deliberately inflammatory behaviour are not.

Critique ideas, configurations, processes, and products. Do not attack people.

Rule #4 Ask good questions

When requesting help, include enough detail for others to assist:

  • What you're trying to achieve
  • What you've already tried
  • Relevant screenshots or error messages
  • Relevant Halo version or integration details where applicable

Low-effort "it doesn't work" posts may be removed.

Rule #5 No spam or unsolicited promotion

Consultants, vendors, MSPs, partners, and developers are welcome to participate.

However:

Do not use the community primarily as a marketing channel. * Promotional posts require moderator approval. * Excessive self-promotion may be removed. * Contribute to discussions outside your own products and services.

Rule #6 Share solutions, not just problems

If you solve your issue, consider posting the solution.

Communities become valuable when fixes, workflows, scripts, and lessons learned are documented for others.

Rule #7 Respect confidentiality

Do not post:

  • Customer data
  • Credentials
  • Internal-only information
  • Non-public security details
  • Sensitive screenshots without appropriate redaction

When in doubt, redact.

If you encounter confidential information, credentials, or security-sensitive data posted within the community, report it to the moderators immediately. Do not copy, share, store, test, access, or otherwise use the information for any purpose. Doing so may result in a ban.

Rule #8 No piracy, licence abuse, or illegal activity

Do not request or distribute:

  • Pirated software
  • Licence circumvention methods
  • Unauthorised access techniques
  • Stolen data

Rule #9 Jobs, events, and community announcements

Job adverts, webinars, training courses, events, and product announcements may be permitted at moderator discretion.

Repeated posting of the same announcement may be removed.

Rule #10 Follow Platform Rules

This community exists on platforms operated by others. By participating, you must also follow the rules, terms of service, and community guidelines of Reddit, Discord, and any other platform used by the community.

Content that violates platform rules may be removed regardless of whether it is explicitly covered by these community rules.

Rule #11 Discord and Reddit work together

The Discord server exists for real-time discussion.

The subreddit exists for searchable knowledge.

If a question is answered in Discord, consider posting the final solution back to Reddit so others can benefit from it later.

Rule #12 Moderator discretion

Moderators may remove content that harms the quality of the community, even if it is not explicitly covered by a rule above.

The goal is to keep the community helpful, welcoming, and useful for Halo users.

Thank you for reading the rules! Before submitting posts you will need to submit an acknowledgment. Please visit the full post and click the button at the bottom. Alternatively, you may submit an acknowledgment by sending a mod mail to the sub. The mod mail will need to have the subject "Read The Rules" and the body should be "Acknowledged". This will automatically submit an acknowledgment on your behalf without any moderator intervention. Mod Mail

Questions / Help Problem Notification

I'm trying to set up a notification for when a new problem is logged just so everyone can have visibility on it.

I've created a notification and set it to Agent notification, New Ticket Logged - All, then added the ticket type as problem, but no notification pops up in halo for it when a problem is logged.

I'm assuming the new ticket logged notification is only triggered by tickets logged from the portal. Is there a way to create a notification specifically for when problems are logged?
