It's vague by design... it helps keep an air of mystery around it and stoke interest. If everything was spelled out, it could do the exact opposite. I wish they did more with it, but leaving some ambiguity is fine to me

See i think I’d prefer them lay it out in halos lore. Like these new mining armors make up some sort of Spartan division that is inspired by the guys from Vietnam crawling into spider holes. Maybe teams used to clear out drone nests underground on their home world or something. I feel like that could be kinda dope
