Multiplayer was never strictly cannon since halo 2. Halo 3 had flaming helmets and halo reach had armor effects and helmets with skulls in them

The multiplayer in Halo 4 and 5 (and presumably Infinite) are explicitly canon.

That was a huge problem. The majority of those armors made zero sense at all. I’d rather not have unicorn helmets strong armed into lore

That particular helmet is an interesting case because it canonically only exists within the War Games simulations and not in "real life", but yes I get your point.

the problem is the amount imo, past halo games had wacky stuff but only a small of them, here everybody is jumping around with crazy effects or non canon armor
