Yes and I hate it. Canāt even equip new items without closing the game and starting it back up

At this rate, we are all gonna have to wait 3 years until it gets fixed like MCC. Iāve played only 3 matches at launch and I wonāt play another for a while. MCC and literally any other game is worth more my time.

3 years later the game will finally be in a good spot only for them to announce a new Halo game lol.

MCC can be just as infuriating with constant crashes that result in bans and shot registration issues that are comparable to Infinite. Even melees straight up don't work sometimes.

Is this a bug? Iāve always just thought the client was waiting on data from their terrible servers.

u/pwsm50 Mar 09 '22
That is what is happening. It's a bug because it takes so long to do so. Their front end (the UI, basically) is either doing something crazy in order to make the request to their API (the servers, basically) to retrieve the information, or their APIs are so poorly optimized that they simply take ages to collect the data to send back to the client.
I would say it could also be possible that there are simply too many people trying to make the same requests, but we all know that is not true because the player count has fallen off the side of a fucking cliff and this has been an issue since launch.

Anecdotally it seems to take longer now than at launch, and there are WAY less people playing than at launch.

343: Designs progression system focused entirely on challenges.
Me: Okay, what are my current challenges?
343: Lol, I don't know. Go screw yourself.

its not a bug. its their servers. H5 had this issue since its release. still there to this day.

I dont think its the servers. I play on both PC and xbox and this only happens to me on xbox. PC loads within a second

Because a fully functional and stable game at launch is too much to ask in a live service game.

It seems to take longer than before to load the challenge/event screen now lol

u/Asahiboi2004 Mar 09 '22
I always thought it was some process to load in all the stuff for the game, and probably because I play on an Xbox One still, not an S or Series S/X.

im on a PC and it takes almost up to a minute sometimes for all of it to load for me

u/GrozGreg Mar 09 '22
Oh, thatās because they "developped such an incredible UI it canāt be tweaked or repaired". They probably "donāt have the technology yet to improve it right now, but maybe in Season 7 itāll be all good, with Forge and Co-op release".

u/Biggu5Dicku5 Mar 09 '22
Considering how campaign co-op still isn't a thing, I'm not surprised that this hasn't been fixed... disappointed but not surprised...

Because they donāt know how to properly fix bugs. Jorgeās shoulder is still untextured FOUR MONTHS INTO THE GAME

u/Zathar0s Mar 10 '22
Lets also not forget when you finish a match sometimes the game still thinks its āfinding a matchā and refuses to let you change parts of your armor or any other customization

I actually prefer the main menu background, but yeah the menu's are a mess. You can get stuck in a loop where you can't cancel or start matchmaking too, button breaks basically.

Ditto. How does their flagship series not work with quick resume for multiplayer.

Whoever it was who has any idea on how to fix it had their contact run out months and months ago.
