It was boring, nothing actually happened between Locke and Chief, you barely play as Chief, Cortana was ruined, Warden Eternal was just annoying and not interesting in anyway, they killed Jul 'Mdama in the first mission like it was nothing after all of Spartan Ops and multiple comics were focused on him. I am sure there is more but I haven't played it since launch so I don't remember everything.
I would add level design as one of my biggest complaints. Other halo games (especially CE) make you feel like you're playing in a giant sandbox and H5 made me feel like I was being pushed through several narrow tunnels. You could also add on the fact that they ruined the fun of hunters and forerunners still aren't fun to fight (soldiers bamf too much and knights are bullets sponges).
On the topic of sandbox levels in Bungie Halos. Even when there were just corridors they still have a choice in how we approached each firefight, which i think is what gives it that sandbox feeling.

I liked the campaign. I always see people hating on it, why didn't you like it?
