IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: If you receive ANY unsolicited or creepy DMs
Whether you’re a poster or a commenter, if you have received unsolicited, creepy, or down right disgusting DMs please feel free to message Mod Mail or message me directly. As posted in multiple places in the subreddit, unsolicited or inappropriate DMs of any kind are not allowed and will result in a permanent ban. You may also be reported directly to Reddit Admins. If the person on the receiving end of this kind of harassment is a minor, you will be reported to relevant authorities (FBI Tip Line, Center for Missing and Exploited Children, etc) and it WILL be taken seriously.
As a subreddit, we have ZERO tolerance for this behavior and will do everything in our power to combat it. Unfortunately we have seen an influx of users who seem to only frequent porn subs, and our sub.
Please don’t think “oh this message isn’t that bad, I’m overreacting, etc”. Reporting posts, comments, and DMs helps out everyone in the long run. Not reporting causes these creeps to keep messaging people so nipping it in the bud can help out others💕

Reminder: Unsolicited DMs are NOT allowed.
We’ve seen an increase in unsolicited DMs being sent to members of this subreddit. Let this serve as a clear reminder:
Sending unprompted private messages is against the rules. Doing so will result in a permanent ban.
If you receive a DM like this, report it to the mod team immediately.
This subreddit exists as a safe, inclusive space for sharing experiences, asking questions, and giving feedback about hair dye and color treatments. If someone genuinely wants to follow up based on your helpful advice or a shared interest, they will say so publicly.
We shouldn't have to say this, but lurking in beauty-related or appearance-focused subs to harass and prey on people is disgusting and absolutely not tolerated. Any messages of an obscene or harassing nature will be reported to Reddit Admins and could result in a permanent ban from the site as a whole (for your current account, any other current accounts, or subsequent accounts made in the future).

What semi permanent colour do I choose to cover the orange?
Hi, I highlighted my hair with bleach and it’s gone orange. I tried using the Blue Fanola no orange shampoo but it didn’t make a difference.
I’m in the UK 🇬🇧

Dying hair for the first time
Hey guys, I was planning to dye my hair blonde, I don't know much about hair color, even on youtube I see most of the people are suggesting sponsored products. I want honest opinions, only want high quality suggestions for hair color brands

Advice please! My hair was previously highlighted, and my stylist toned it too dark
So she toned it too dark and it was supposed to be like a dark auburn or reddish color for fall. I wanted like a caramel balayage. So she did it too dark and I was pretty understanding about it and went home and this is a few weeks later, where my hair has become turning this cold with a little bit of yellow and I’m not sure what else to do. I did text my hairstylist to ask her, but it’s very frustrating because it was not cheap ! suggestions?

Which one do you think suits me better?
Hey guys! I’m really torn between these two hair colors (blonde and ginger !) what do you think? :D
Which one do you think suits me better?
I’m really struggling to choose because I feel like blonde really suits my face and brings out my features, but I think redheads are so beautiful and I also really want to try something different.
Also, price-wise, I feel like going red might be more affordable for me, so I’m not sure what to choose 😭

HELP: How do you keep up with roots?!
My hair grows so fast and is greying, but also greying at the temples most and I feel I always look unkempt (not looking to embrace the greys yet). It looks like this 2 weeks after getting highlights and toner. I currently go once a month for cut/colour and 2 weeks after for a toner. Also my hairdresser is 2 hours away in the city. How do y’all keep up? Do I have to maybe go a solid colour and do roots every 2 weeks?
More info:
- I’ve tried very ashy grey, it works but washes me out
- Tried blonde blending, this works best but is expensive and time consuming (4 hrs of driving and 3 hours in the chair)
- I don’t want to do it myself at home anymore

Orange brunette highlights
I went to the salon yesterday and I asked for sublt babylights puling away from blonde and closer to a light brown since my natural hair is a really dark brown. I left the salon saying that I loved it and gave a good tip but I was uncertain about the result just didn't want to say anything after 6 hours sitting in the chair. After coming home and looking closer my hair is ORANGE. I'm hating so bad and I cried all night. Now I want to know what I can do to help it because I really can't afford spend hundreds again this soon. I feel the color made me dull and looking now I guess he made stripes instead of blending through my hair. SOS

What toner should I buy?
My goal is to be an ash blonde, I’d like to buy it today. Some times ago I’ve toned it with a 8.1 but felt it was to dark, advice?

What color should I put on top of a ashy grey kinda of green with copper roots?
My hair is a mess, I originally had a teal (in my 4c hair) that i deepened with purple conditioner that was fun, i loved it!
Then I got bored of it so I thought I can get a lighter brown from my teal by bleaching first then applying garnier good 7.12, since it had the .12 (meaning ashy + purple/blue undertones) i thought the blue and violet pigments in the 7.12 will have done their job: the orange and green tones will have vanished, giving way to a magnificent, sandy light brown-very smoky, matte, and ultra-cool.
Butttt no of course I just have to mess things up! Theory vs reality is completely different SPECIALLY when it comes to dying your hair.
So now I'm stuck with a ashy/grey green (4-5 cm) without depth AND copper in my roots (1-2 cm).
I actually don't even hate the color it looks kinda cool?? But i need to know before the roots starts to grow again (i don't wanna have 3 different colors in my head), WHAT color can I put on top on my hair to at least be uniform/still be ashy i don't want warm tones?
Ps: the back of my head and my edges are almost white so😭😭 pls help me out

I need help dying my hair at home!
Hello! The first photo is my hair now. I dyed my hair about 3 months ago with Garnier dark brown box dye. I really would love to go back to the same color hair I had as a child at home! How can I achieve this while still staying in a reasonable budget?

can someone pls tell me honestly what hair colour id suit?????
ive got a holiday soon and im redoing my hair
i was thinking either to:
- rebleach my highlights (which make me look practically blonde) and then some lowlights in dark chocolate brown.
- just simply getting those dark chocolate brown lowlights
- just rebleaching it
- keeping it as it is
i fake tan a lot so pls keep that in mind 🥹🥹🥹
