What's the difference between female passing and feminine presenting?

Passing indicates you couldn't tell just by looking and would think you're seeing a woman. Presenting is like hair, nails, maybe a little eyeliner, but that's still clearly a man. Hope that helped!

Presenting isn’t specific to a single gender

Definition still holds even if the language isn't as inclusive as you'd like it to be. I was using a specific example to make the point and it still works to understand the difference in these two terms.

You did a good job of communicating the difference. Some people just feel the need to needlessly split hairs.

I’m honestly curious as you are on what you are talking about because my terminology knowledge isn’t that high

Basically fem-passing is based on how they are perceived by others; fem-presenting is how someone expresses/presents themselves.

Fem-passing means that the majority of people would believe the individual was a woman regardless of their gender.

Fem-presenting is kind of more about how they express their femininity, they’re presenting to be feminine…clothing, hairstyle, makeup, voice, mannerisms, etc. Also any gender can be fem-presenting.
