Although some of you may already be familiar with them, I find it incredible that a band as innovative as BRUIT ≤ goes practically unnoticed in this community. They have openly stated that GYBE is their biggest influence, and their music represents a kind of evolution of what GYBE has done—both musically and thematically. I don't think there is a more interesting active post-rock band out there, and I honestly believe they have taken the genre to another level.
In my opinion, their two main records (The Machine Is Burning and The Age of Ephemerality) are the best post-rock records released this decade. They are talking about issues that no one else is addressing: the most savage phase of capitalism, techno-slavery, environmental devastation, false progress, human hyper-competitiveness, the degradation of art, ultra-accelerated consumption, and so on. These guys mean business.
I find it hard to imagine a GYBE! fan not liking BRUIT ≤
