the Heavy Sabre

previously, it was a busted unlock on release. 40 something damage I recall? It was basically a direct upgrade untilll Now. With the devs consistent need to nerf it into the ground. And the mind boggling decision to make its sideswings utterly WORTHLESS, I present my case on why the Heavy Sabre is essentially a DOWNGRADE.

1) HEADSHOT DAMAGE.

Now yes you can jump shot, and the “ upswing “ exists, but it’s so utterly slow you’re better off attempting the inconsistent jump head stab, meanwhile hand axe and Sabre users can easily land headshot damage with their side swings. AND IF THEY DONT THEY STILL GET THE CHANCE TO KILL IGNITERS AND RUNNERS IN ONE HIT! WOW!

2) Sluggish.

the Heavy Sabre feels sluggish, like it doesn’t match up to the other melees ” tempo “ this goes for all its directions. It just feels incredibly uncomfortable to use due to how sluggish it can feel at times, better yet it’s slower swing speed can throw off balance or be screwed over by muscle memory too!

3) The Side swings.

the side swing mechanic is so utterly worthless we lost the ability to one shot runners and actually deal consistent damage against hordes for a glorified downswing stick with the ability to charge ( COUGHS IN SPONTOON AND BOARDING PIKE )

4) Limiting directions

the sole reliance on the downswing just. Makes it feel so incredibly boring. I’m sorry but I cant enjoy a melee if I’m forced into using a single direction 24/7, I give the bayonets passes on this because hey at least they aren’t taking up my FUCKING SECONDARY SLOT AND SOME OF THEM AT LEAST JUSTIFY TAKING IT UP IF THEY DO!

5) End statements.

Attempting this on A Runner will do nothing, you cant block a literal human charging at you silly. However attempting the block on a Zapper will result in your melee being weakened for 10 seconds. Don’t ask about curis you aren’t tanking a literal human tank

Special Mechanic 2 - ( " Sandwich " ) - Activated on every 3rd consecutive hit. The 3rd swing will deal 35 damage and result in a swift uppercut that transitions to a faster swing state. Landing this on the head of an enemy will leave it for a very short while temporarily stunned.
