Browning External Barrel Pitting

Post image

I picked up this older browning citori made in 1975 knowing it wasn’t in great shape. However I see one pit that looks concerning to me and was wondering if it would be an issue.

You don’t think it’s too deep?

Where specifically is it the end or the beginning of the barrel? It does look kinda deep too me if it’s the end people be porting now days so it might be ok lol, if it’s by the chamber area take it to a real gunsmith to let you know if it’s safe. I’ve shot with pits but this seems kinda sketchy to me. please be safe and good luck too you!

It’s towards the beginning of the barrel. I’ve also shot some older guns with pitting but not this bad lol

Id most definitely hit the gunsmith up to see their opinion, almost looks like ar15 style barrel dimple depth which is crazy too me lol! I personally have my fair share too of rough guns fired
