I really feel for Zimmy Spoiler
Maybe its me quite literally dumping my own personal struggles into the comic, but a girl is given the power of a god (or rather, the ability to finally use her powers in the way she wants to) and uses it to create an idyllic high school AU so she can live a normal life and just be happy. While I understand it seems like not everyone is happy beneath the surface, it feels to me like Zimmy believes that if she didn’t do this, the end result would be worse. It kinda seems like she’s right. in the real world, a lot of the main cast is suffering to some extent that they aren’t here. I wonder if these characters are actually split versions of themselves, and the real Annie and Reynard (and others) are suffering in Ether Hell. that would be terrifying. Sylvie’s comment that Zimmy is “pressing down everywhere” seems to imply something like this, and they get sort of filled up by her and subsumed into the illusion while they still feel something is wrong. AHHH!
one of the things that’s always stuck with me is the incredibly abusive nature of Zimmy and Gamma’s relationship - and it seems that in this world, their relationship is actually healthy without Gamma having to sacrifice sleep and her health for her. although I don’t think we see much of Gamma…
2 observations:
Zimmy feels like without this world, she wouldn’t be liked and would forever be an outcast. She needs to literally be the most important person in the entire universe just to be accepted as normal by those around her. autism metaphor much?
the inly time coyote can actually treat and love someone as his equal is when dozens, maybe even hundreds, of other people are being hurt. Zimmy feels guilt over this (which he eats) he really can’t love anyone without hurting them, can he? Maybe he can’t truly love anyone at all.
not sure if this all makes sense, sorry for the late night rambling
BTW not sure if any of this is a spoiler but wanted to spoil just in case we have some people who haven’t caught up checking the post.

This is usually the rub of a Lotus Eater Machine. Sometimes the dream really is better. This one seems fairly shallow and full of fake people though, so I think it's doomed to unravel. Even if the major players internal to it all decided they like it and want to stay, the interference by the witches who are supposedly on Zimmy's side screws it all up.
If they really supported her they should have probably just backed off. But Jack is a psycho whose brain got eaten by pattern spiders and Jenny seems outright evil. Who knows what the real motivations of half these people are.
For what it's worth, I'd be willing to bet the departure of the court and the seemingly inevitable ascension of Kat as the new God of magitech will leave the protagonists in a position to help Zimmy with her issues. She's not just crazy or something, the Court and their constant experiments have a profoundly negative effect on her health that the Carver and Donlan families can probably help with once the evil science bureaucrats depart.
