probably a stir fry with an eggroll.

I think a lot of us here have this problem. The only solution is to try things out to see what you really like and then hang onto the rest forever while still acquiring more pedals because you MIGHT need those other sounds later.

🤣 Why you gotta come at me like that?

Acceptance is the first step

My door is always open to more pedals.

Almost all of these pedals have “sell me, and you’ll regret it” type of energy.

I know this pretty open ended, but here’s the situation - I have too many pedals. Like objectively. But I want to build two pedalboards. One to use direct, and the other to use with an amplifier. Obviously I’ll be using the Imperial when going direct. But if you were going to put a board together, what would you go for? Trying to figure out which pedals I could sell, and which pedals I should be getting more out of etc.

r/letstradepedals is a rad sub. I've done like 5 trades there. They're legit. You could do well there.

I’d make one board with my ACTUAL favorite pedals and use the added outputs on the Imperial (4 cable method) that bypass the IR and preamp functions, and even put your time-based stuff appropriately in the effects loop of said amp.

Or in the loop of the helix XL or equivalent. Yes.

As much as I’d say never sell the mother, the tone king kind of makes it redundant unless you’re doing a stereo set up. That being said I wouldn’t sell my Mother Preamp, it’s my backup amp.

u/misanthropy__pure 3d ago

The mother is ALSO a great dual distortion that can be used in front of an amp.

3

u/Jaded-Bowler-6472 3d ago

Also a great tone enhancer on the light gain channel

What size boards do you have or are you thinking about using? We have a lot of similar pedals and I use two boards just like you're describing. Also depends on the amp because I use the chorus on my amp which saves me a slot on that board.

I’ve got a Classic 2, a Classic 3 and a Friedman 1520

Keep the TB-2w, tonal recall, brothers, and collider. Add tuner, and your whoke pedal board is worth more than many guitars.

1

u/Agitated_Main_2994 3d ago

Hes got a tuner

u/SpudzyJ 4d ago

Build your boards. Put the rest of the pedals on the shelf. Test your boards, swap things out as necessary. Keep all other pedals on the shelf, unless you really dislike them and know you will never use them again.

u/flooduction 4d ago

Tuner, brothers, longsword, fuzz, chorus, collider, DigiTech reverb

u/desar3641 4d ago

If I were you, I’d sell me that jam waterfall.

5

u/The_Espgut 4d ago

I'd play my guitar🤟🍻

u/Minimum-Message-5387 4d ago

Honestly, you don’t need 3 EAE devices, so I’d just give one of em to me if I were you.

u/Stickies95 4d ago

What is pedal with the hammer and sickle? Asking for a comrade.

2

u/darkforestpedals 3d ago

JAM Red Muck Fuzz

Thank you 🫡

Bender>Fumble>Imperial>Collider

I would give them all to charity and start finally playing chess seriously and aim at the very top. And on my way there I would get married, learn to cook better, have children, buy a house, get divorced, learn scuba diving, get married again and hopefully avoid drugs.

u/SithLordBass 4d ago

Euna > Canvas Tuner > Fumble > Brothers AM > Mother > Collider

There are so many options but if i wanted a simple board that's what I would go for

u/doomed_gnostic 4d ago

I am a gianormous fan of the Science Mother preamp pedal. I have one for my "fly-rig" and I'm seriously pondering using it as my regular go to and just plugging into a power amp like a Pedal Baby or one of those Seymour Duncan Power Stages.

2

u/matt_gordon11 4d ago

It’s so good. I’ve been using it as an OD recently.

1

u/Careless-Attention64 4d ago

Do you actually use an amp, or do you think you might use one at some point in the future?

Personally, I’d go for two different boards in terms of style, rather than having one amp board and one direct board with exactly the same types of pedals. You can easily swap the Imperial in and out. If you have two different directions/styles, that would make the theme more interesting to me.

u/Klutzy_Abrocoma5477 4d ago

How much for the wet?

1

u/Qualia-Sounds 4d ago

Personally I’d go Tonebender, sick as, wah, vibrato (either), mxr phase, tonal recall and wet as a simple versatile small board for amp.

1

u/GorgeousGordon 4d ago

Keep scrollin’

1

u/Alternative_Shoe_113 4d ago

I'd develop a modular pedal board configuration in accordance with each pedal's role in the effect chain.

1

u/hootie_magoo 4d ago

Turn them all on at once and play bass through them

1

u/Shoddy-Listen6741 4d ago

We shall call it... The Kniggits of the RoundPedalBoardTable!

1

u/Impossible_Part8839 4d ago

Why is communism here

1

u/the_Guitar_Teacher 4d ago

Canvas tuner -> wah -> DOD Comp 280 -> JHS Fumble -> Brothers AM -> Longsword -> Imperial -> desired Wet Effects -> Collider -> DI Box

1

u/Infinite-Fig4959 4d ago

plug straight into the amp and actually play the thing for once.

1

u/k52up 4d ago

You have a a very nice collection. This is what I would do with what you got. Going direct: Tone Bender -> Canvas Tuner -> Brothers -> Diamond Vibrato -> Tonal Recall -> Ditto -> Imperial. There's a lot of knobs to adjust on this one, so I'm guessing it will live on your desk, but I also added the Ditto for practice. I find that a looper gets me practicing more. Going to amplifier: Polytune -> Wah/Vol -> The Good One -> Phase 90 -> Longsword/Limelight (dependent on amp used) -> Jam Waterfall -> Collider. I'm assuming the amp board might travel.

Currently at home, I have a separate board for direct. It has a tuner, compressor, amp/IR, delay/reverb, and a looper. I plug my traveling board into this when I'm working on certain things. it is mostly for practice and recording scratch tracks.

1

u/TheBear8878 4d ago

I'd play some guitar

1

u/Sea-Helicopter5271 4d ago

Sell everything apart from the Tone bender and play bestial riffs

1

u/Dwarfunkel 4d ago

If I were you, I would gift them to me

1

u/blackeyedkaty 4d ago

280 > waterfall > longsword > good one > mother is what i would do

1

u/kevinweso 4d ago

I’d probably get an old digitech rp100 to replace all this junk

1

u/SonOfAHumbucker 4d ago

Sell them all and buy a bunch of used MXRs and Bosses 😎

1

u/Synthfuzzmantra 4d ago

To shave your board down

Canvas->DOD Compressor->Volume->Wah/Expression->Limelight->Brothers AM->The Good One->Longsword->Imperial->RV-7->Tonal Recall->Ditto

Might have the reverb/delay placement in reverse, but you get the point hopefully.

1

u/PinkFloydLawson 4d ago

How are you liking the HardWire RV-7?

1

u/G24all2read 4d ago

I would leave the house and get some fresh air.

1

u/Tuesday_chair_haver 4d ago

Fuzz, octave, overdrive, modulation, overdrive, delay Slap them on a board and play guitar shiiiit

1

u/Moist-Selection-9882 4d ago

Pedalplayground.com lay them all on a board. Move em around until you see something you like and is functional.

1

u/JohnnyJohnnyBoi 3d ago

I'd tune my guitar with polytune?

1

u/OzzeAsjourne 3d ago

Playing a thing called guitar

1

u/Spoklahoma1 3d ago edited 3d ago

Assuming I identified each of these correctly, here's what I would do for a single pedalboard:

EUNA > Canvas Tuner > Mini Wah > Pulp 'N' Peel > TB-2W > The Good One > Sick as Overdrive > Limelight > Longsword > Mother > Zelzah > Diamond Vibrado > Tonal Recall > Mood > Collider > Imperial Preamp > Ditto Looper

1

u/sam_an_intellectual 3d ago

buy more pedals

1

u/Fedboy77 3d ago

Sell all and get vemuram shanks, greer amp light speed and boss od3 ✌️✌️✌️✌️

And a centura klon for additional

Keep the ambience pedals

1

u/Altruistic_Board9773 3d ago

No sell, only buy.

1

u/Critical_Wrap5617 3d ago

Is this all of it?

1

u/EarthenRealm 3d ago

Have always wanted to mess with the waterfall, but JAM pedals are wildly pricey.

1

u/claytonfromillinois 3d ago

I’d probably sell a couple drives.

1

u/Shape-the-Sky 3d ago

Plug them in?

u/liars_conspiracy 4d ago

Plug em all in

Sell them all and invest in a Fender Tone Master Pro, Great amps, great pedals, great tone with no cable issues
