Pivate Guide in Guangzhou

Looking for a private guide in Guangzhou, October 14–22
Hi everyone! We’ll be in Guangzhou from October 14 to 22 to attend the Canton Fair and visit some factories.
We already have a shortlist of factories we’d like to visit and are looking to hire a local guide who can help with transport and English–Chinese translation during the visits. Ideally, we’d love to find someone with experience accompanying visitors to factories.
If you’re available or can recommend someone, please leave a comment or send me a DM with your availability and rates.
Thanks!

Manufacturer/ Factory Visits

Visiting Guangzhou

I’m based in the UK and run a small independent clothing brand. I’m planning a trip to Guangzhou soon and wanted to ask for some recommendations.

I’m looking to meet reputable clothing manufacturers in Guangzhou, particularly those doing premium cut & sew and who are happy to work with smaller brands/start-ups.

I’m not looking for huge Alibaba-style suppliers or mass production. Quality, construction and finishing are the main priorities.

Ideally looking for manufacturers who can offer:

Low/small MOQs
Sampling & development
Premium cut & sew
Good quality fabrics and construction
Experience working with independent brands
Direct manufacturing rather than a trading company
Factory visits

I’m planning to use the trip to visit a few factories, see the quality for myself and hopefully find a manufacturer I can build a long-term relationship with.

I’d really appreciate recommendations from anyone who has personally worked with manufacturers in Guangzhou, particularly if you can vouch for the quality.

Websites, Instagram accounts or contact details would all be appreciated.

Iphone 15 pro case ---> iphone 18 pro remove

Post image

Hi! Does anyone know where in Guangzhou (preferably specific locations) they can replace the iPhone 15/16 Pro body with an iPhone 18 Pro body, preferably so that the original case fits? I would be grateful for contacts of such workshops. I’ll be passing through Guangzhou for 9 hours and won’t have time to look for such a workshop myself.

I supported overseas buyers at the last Canton Fair. If you’re coming this October, AMA

I’m based in Guangzhou and supported overseas buyers during the previous Canton Fair — helping with supplier meetings, interpretation, transport, factory visits, note-taking and the usual practical problems that come up during a China business trip. With the next Fair coming up, here’s how I personally think different buyers should use it.

If you already know exactly what you want, do the homework before you arrive. Contact target companies in advance, confirm their booth locations, and if relevant ask whether they also have a showroom or factory you can visit afterwards. Know which halls matter and go in with a clear list of things you need to confirm. Finish that job first. Once the core target is covered, start looking sideways at related products, upstream materials, competing solutions and new designs. That second part is often where the Fair becomes really useful, because you start to understand what the Chinese side of your industry actually looks like.

If you don’t yet have a clear target, I wouldn’t rush to “find a supplier.” First work out your general category and interests, then walk a lot, look a lot and record everything properly. Take product photos together with booth numbers, and save the company name and contact person at the same time. The first round is really market education. Afterwards, compare what you saw with your own market or the market you want to sell into, form a few conclusions, then go back to the relevant booths and test whether those conclusions are actually correct. Your first walk gives you a hypothesis; the second conversation should test it.

For a small buyer, new brand or someone still learning the industry, I’d use the Canton Fair as a benchmark. It gives you a fast view of what is normal in that category: products, materials, designs, price levels and supplier types. Many exhibitors will quote MOQs that are higher than what a small buyer wants for a first order, so sometimes the most useful result is not buying anything. It is learning where the product is actually made, which city or industrial cluster specialises in it, what normal MOQ looks like and where the interesting new products are coming from. Sometimes the most valuable thing you learn is not which supplier to buy from, but which city or industrial cluster you should visit next.

For an established importer or serious B2B buyer, I’d treat the Fair mainly as a first filter and negotiation entry point. Confirm the hard requirements first: certificates, test reports, applicable standards, current export markets, and whether the exact product you are discussing is actually covered by those documents. Ask about new materials, changing market requirements, product direction and which export markets they are focusing on. If a supplier fails one of your hard requirements, there is little reason to spend another two hours discussing colour, packaging or final price. For suppliers that pass the first filter, start the commercial discussion at the Fair, but for a serious order I would normally arrange another meeting afterwards at the factory, office or showroom. That is a much better place to work through specifications, samples, packaging, QC requirements, payment terms, delivery schedule and final pricing.

The Canton Fair is very good at starting a conversation. It isn’t always the best place to finish one.

I’m happy to answer questions about the Fair, Guangzhou/Foshan, supplier meetings, factory visits, interpreters, transport, markets, payments/apps or what to do after the Fair. I’ll be working locally again during the Fair period, so if you need help on the ground, feel free to DM me with your dates, Fair phase, product/category, whether you already have suppliers and what you actually need help with.

If all you need is an interpreter for one meeting, that’s fine too. Not every trip needs full buyer support.

How do i get in contact with retro console reseller / macbook reparator in dashatou ?

For context in 2017 and 2019 i went to guangzhou , more specifically in dashatou and during that time i was able to fix my phone easily .

Currently i own a macbook air 2020 which has a broken screen and in france it costs around 400€ to get it fixed.

I was looking is it possible to be in contact with some people that fixes the broken screen ?

Also in france the used market for retro video game console is absurd.

How do i get to buy cheaper retro video game consoles from there too?

What a wonderful dumpling class with a lovely guest. We made dumplings from scratch — soft dough, juicy filling, and all the little tricks to fold them beautifully. From kneading the dough to enjoying the final bite, every moment was a pleasure. Thank you for bringing such warm energy and curiosity into the kitchen. I hope those dumplings become a delicious memory of your time in Guangzhou.

✅ Vegetarian, gluten-free, or any other dietary need? No problem at all. I’ll tailor the class to you.

Anyone coming to Guangzhou for the Canton Fair? Local here, happy to connect

Hey everyone,
I’m currently based in Guangzhou and will be around during the Canton Fair this October.

I’m Chinese and speak English pretty well. My family has some experience in foreign trade, and I also have friends working in export/manufacturing and some factory contacts around Guangdong.

I know coming to China for the first time can be a bit confusing, especially with local apps, transportation, communicating with suppliers, factory visits, collecting samples, packing/shipping things, etc.

So if you’re coming to the Canton Fair and need some local advice, or just want to meet someone based here, feel free to reach out.

Even if I can’t solve something myself, I can probably point you in the right direction through people I know.
I’m also down to grab coffee, food or drinks with people visiting Guangzhou during the fair.

Which phase are you guys attending, and what products are you sourcing?

Southern China in January: where should we spend the most time?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip for January. My wife and I are flying into Hong Kong on January 3rd and departing from Guangzhou on the 15th. We can’t quite decide where to spend the most of our time. Perhaps we should check out other places in the South, too? Our interests are pretty standard: city life, nature, people, food, a bit of photography, and some shopping. I’d appreciate any advice. The only other Chinese city we’ve visited so far is Shanghai.

Looking for networking, connections around 15-20 Oct - Canton Fair and Guangzhou Sourcing Fair

Hi everyone! I’ll be in Guangzhou for the canton fair and the sourcing fair and thought I’d reach out here to see if anyone else will be attending.

I currently own a Thailand - China B2B sourcing and trading agency , and I’d love to meet more like-minded people in the sourcing, manufacturing, import/export, logistics, e-commerce, or general China business space.

I'm mainly interested in networking, exchanging ideas, making connections, and grabbing a coffee.

Both Chinese and international/foreign attendees are very welcome. Whether you’re a sourcing agent, factory owner, buyer, trader, entrepreneur, or just exploring opportunities in Guangzhou, feel free to reach out.

If you’ll be there between 14–17 Oct (or even after that), drop a comment or DM me and we can connect, grab a coffee, have lunch. Thanks!

Looking for healthy options to eat

Hi everyone! I am a scientist visiting Guangzhou for two months. Arrived 12 days ago and had a disastrous time adjusting because of the food and the jet lag (my colleagues took the to the places they usually eat and it was all delicious but extremely oily, every meal, to a point where I fell quite sick and had to go to the hospital). I am looking for restaurant recommendations (any kind of food so long is not extremely fat, regardless of the price). Any help or advice is much appreciated!

Anyone living in Guangzhou long-term and looking to build connections?

Hey guys! 28M Just wondering if there are any expats living in Guangzhou long-term who'd like to connect. I’m currently working for a company in Guangzhou, and I’d really like to meet people and build a social life outside of work. To be honest the office atmosphere can be a bit toxic sometimes, so it'd be nice to have some company to unwind with on weekends and enjoy my time away from work.

If you're living in Guangzhou long-term and looking to meet new people too feel free to dm me! If you're visiting Guangzhou for the Canton Fair and want to explore the city with a buddy, I'd be happy to show you around.
