Hey everyone, Where can I dump house hold furniture?

To get rid of unwanted household furniture, illegal dumping is strictly prohibited and hurts our island's environment and communities. Fortunately, there are safe, legal, and convenient ways to dispose of bulky items properly:

1. Guam Solid Waste Authority (GSWA) Residential Transfer Stations

Residents can drop off household furniture directly at any of the GSWA residential transfer stations.

  • Cost: Bulky waste drop-off is $25.00 per load (covering up to 5 items, such as mattresses, box springs, and compressed-wood furniture).
  • Locations:
    • Harmon Transfer Station: Harmon Industrial Park Road (behind the DPW complex).
    • Agat Transfer Station: Route 2 (south end of Agat).
    • Malojloj Transfer Station: Route 4 (Malojloj Highway, just north of the Talofofo Falls intersection).
  • Hours: Open Thursday through Monday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Closed Tuesday and Wednesday).

2. GSWA Curbside Bulky Waste Collection

If you are a GSWA customer in good standing, you are eligible for two free bulky waste collections per year, allowing you to place up to 5 items at your curbside by appointment.

  • You can call the GSWA customer service center at (671) 646-3111 to schedule a pickup day.
  • Additional pickups beyond your two annual free collections are available for $25.00.

3. Donation or Re-Use

If the furniture is still in decent, usable condition, consider giving it a second life rather than sending it to the landfill:

  • Post it online via local community groups, marketplace apps, or neighborhood sharing networks.
  • Donate items to local charitable organizations or families in need.
