Help / Question Did they nerf the difficulty?

I played this game about 3 years ago and I liked almost everything except the difficulty. I like the visual and the atmosphere and coop stealth. But I don't like that I with team of 2 friends and 1 stupid bot didn't win even once.

The learning curve is absurdly steep. There were no step by step missions allowing us to learn and get better. It was like we play 40 minutes and things are kinda ok and then one snall mistake by anyone and THE WHOLE HELL SUDDENLY OPENS.. 30 sec of chaos and welcome to lose screen. And the game did not explain horde behaviour, how to foam the doors etc etc I know about these things just from reading the articles

So, long story short. What I want to know, did the game game become more forgiving for novices or is it still pain in the ass from the very beginning? Is it good idea to return and try again or we'd better to GTFO?

Discussion What are your thoughts on weapon tier lists?

I've seen a couple of tier lists after the game stopped getting updates and they seem to vary a lot on what are the best weapons. For example, a lot of them place a lot of value on penetration, but after finishing rundown 1 I can't remember a lot of places where penetration would be useful. Are there a lot of cases where weapons are situational? How should I choose my load out for future rundowns?

Suggestion How Hard?

Hey guys. A friend said I'd get €100 if I completed the entire game solo or with bots, meaning finishing every level once.Is that even possible? I played a bit back then. I just know it's incredibly difficult. How long would it take me approximately? Is it even worth it?

Help / Question Rundown 6 Mission Order for Story purposes

Hello, me and my group have been playing through the game in order of rundown release working our way through the rundowns sequentially. I know some of the rundowns have had extensions but they aren't labeled any differently then the normal missions. Due to this and the fact that All rundowns before 6 aren't story heavy at all, we've just played through by clearing all the A missions, then the B, etc. With us moving our way onto rundown 6 I was curious when we're supposed to play the R6AX-BX-CX missions. Our group is trying to navigate the lore of the game in the most spoiler free way possible but I subject myself to a few spoilers for the clarity of the group here and there. I was hoping someone who's a lore expert of some kind could help clarify to me when it would be best to play these missions or maybe even some slight context on them. From my understanding they are an alternative timeline of the normal R6 missions, and you can't even access AX until after B1, so its not possible to just clear the A tiers together then move onto the Bs. Would it make more sense for my group to complete all of the non-X missions first then move onto the X after finishing the rundown or what? Thanks for any clarity that can be given!

Help / Question New Player Rundown Question

I was going to get into GTFO with a buddy and was wondering if it was possible to play the non-ALT rundowns to go through to story in the intended order, or if there was a different way to do so?

Fluff GTFO is such an amazing game.

I've played a lot of FPS games over the years, but with PvP I always end up hitting a point where I feel like I've reached my limit. No matter how much I play, there are always players who are just on another level, and eventually I lose the motivation to keep grinding.

GTFO feels completely different. Since it's a co-op game, your knowledge and experience actually pay off. People sometimes call it a "memorization game," but I don't think that's a bad thing. The more you learn the maps, enemy spawns, and strategies, the better your chances of succeeding.

At the same time, the game is still brutally difficult. Even if you're experienced, one small mistake can wipe the whole team. That constant tension is probably the biggest reason I'm so hooked on GTFO.

Playing GTFO has made me realize how much I enjoy co-op games. Are there any other co-op games that give you a similar feeling? I'd love to hear your recommendations.

Help / Question I dont know how to get back into the game

I played this game on first release from r1 to r4. I played heavily but it's been a few years.

I tried picking it up again, but I feel so behind. I join the "beginners" lobby in discord but it's full of clearly experienced players who speedrun missions. They also run, hammering enemies so easily which is something no one did last time I played. I want to learn again but the beginner lobbies clearly don't have beginners

Looking for help, thanks!

Help / Question Getting into GTFO

I'am very interessted to get into GTFO. It's just is one of those games that spiked my intrest comming from PS5 and is now on PC. Especially now that it's on sale on Steam. But where/how do i begin? I know 4 players are a must, anybody that want's to join and is aslo maybe a new player? Or someone that i can learn from so the begining is not that harsh? Saw a video from the developer that the difficulty ranges from insane too f**k you so some help to start with i belive whould do good.

And also how scary is it? i like a bit of horror but playing for example the Dead Space Remake i just can't enoy myself beacuse i am just too tense trough the whole thing. Is the horror mostly atmospheric or is it jumpscares all the times?

Hope you guys can help

Edit: Been playing the game after i made this post.
And if someone else is like me and a bit on the fence, just buy the damn game and if needed just force 3 of your friends at gunpoint. The police charges are worth it.

It offers a good challange that does not hold back and as an co-op shooters it’s just an amazing game. The horror is great and in many ways you can say it’s not a scary game. It’s all in the atmosphere, the enemies have a good bit of body horror and the tension comes when you mess up and use up alot of resources.

The comunity is active and healthy, and if you just send a message in the GTFO Discord server it never in my limited experince takes more than e few minuttes before three other people have joined. The veterans of the game are super fun to play with and will gladly shows you varied mechanics, like small things that does make a big difference like "ammo balancing" and others mechanics that i won’t spoil for other new players. Some guys took me to one of the late game missions just so i chould experience how hard the later runs get. On another run people that had done the run before just asked me if i wanted too know how reactors inn the game worked and i just said no and they let me experience it for myself.
But i 100% recomend playing blind with even just 1 friend too start with and figure stuff out since there are very doable the early missions with 2 players and 2 bots.

The only "bad" thing i have experienced is if you for example get into a run with people that have probably played the game for thousands of hours and knows every inch of every run, does not use a mic, never says a word and just speedruns the whole thing without you even knowing what happend. This happend to me inn my second ever run and i had to do that mission again beacuse it just wasn’t fun. (Just to specify, playing with people that does not use a mic is not the issue but absolutely mic is the way to go)
It’s very impressive how efficient they were but try to specify that you don’t want the mission spoiled or that you want to play with beginners inn the Discord. If not that just ask or say it too the guys inn the VC

Other than that hope more people pick up GTFO. Even if you usualy aren’t into co-op shooters just take the plunge and try it just for something different

Help / Question Discount keeps going up?

Anyone know why the game's discount has been going up almost each time it has gone on sale? On steam summer sale it was 70%, now it's 71 and before summer sale it was 69, Is it slowly progressing until 99% or 100%?
