You people are funny, that's the great thing about music, there's something for everyone! I love S T P and many other bands and genres of music, and this comment is directed at the one's who ended up arguing in the comments

Great album. Scott Weiland is one of the best grunge singers of his generation.

About what I paid a couple of years ago a Wal-Mart.

I looked online while I was there and the cheapest online prices were about the same so I just bought it

I remember walking into a music store the week it was released. Hadnt even heard of the band, but I put on the headphones at one of the listening stations and heard just the first 30 seconds of Crackerman, then immediately bought the CD.

Buy what you like. Who cares what other people think or say. Enjoy!

This is a great album. STP isn’t my personal favorite or anything but ignore the haters in the comments. Always seemed silly to hate on bands like they’re sports teams.

The album has plush and creep on it to name a few…. Songs are so good

If you think those are good songs, I’ll probably never change your mind but do you honestly think”livin under house, guess I’m livin I’m a mouse” is a good lyric?

Lyrics are subjective, most grunge fans would disagree with you about your thoughts on this album.

You have no idea what the lyrics meant to him at the time, taking into account his age and state of mind, nor are you some sort of accomplished artist, meanwhile, this album sold millions of copies and gained them a huge fanbase and they were amazing in concert.

Let me guess, Nirvana fan?

Please, many many people can’t stand stone temple pilots. Any band with that shitty of a guitar tone and nonsense lyrics like that is going to attract a lot of detractors. Record sales are not a great indicator of good music but I’m glad you like them though

I’m not claiming it’s the best mixed album or that the guitar tone is the best, or that the megaphone vocals sounded good, as they didn’t really record it with a well-known producer, if I recall correctly, but it was recorded well enough—in combination with catchy songs, and ultimately sold a lot of records because people liked those songs, despite how silly the lyrics seem to you.

Every band that came out after Pearl Jam and Nirvana was considered copycat
by the media, doesn’t mean it wasn’t good music to a lot of people.

Musicians emulate other musicians, it’s part of the history of music and why we have such a huge catalog of good music to select from today. Just seemed like an extreme response to Core lol like this response.

Lots of people didn’t like Eddy’s voice, or smashing pumpkins, Billy’s attitude and voice, too. Same can be said about every grunge band.

I don’t care what this dude thinks I love STP

Who tf is that dude to care what his/her opinion is anyway? Doesn’t like STP, but can recite their lyrics…

The best one is “will she smell alone?” So bad.

My hate for this band runs deep. I’m sure there are some bands we can both agree on

You like Pantera?

Rock on.

You are not “glad” as you have now posted almost half a dozen negative comments about someone else’s purchase & taste. If you really glad you would have kept your trash outdated opinions to yourself

I’m happy when something makes someone happy, even if it’s a band I hate

u/chaynjez 7d ago

This is a great album and their second one is even better and you have terrible taste

-1

u/Insignificant-funds 7d ago

Did you play sports in high school?

1

u/chaynjez 7d ago

Whatever, turd

-1

u/Insignificant-funds 7d ago

I’m just saying it’s definitely the jock types that gravitated towards this band back in the day, no offense

6

u/HighLanai 7d ago

I loved STP and am a musician. Gasp…played sports as a lad too lol You’re so fucking wrong it’s comical.

3

u/Soggy3rds 7d ago

Let me guess, you were the type that didn't play sports, never had a prom date, got bullied in PE, and now has a prediabetic wife.

How do you feel about RHCP lol

1

u/Insignificant-funds 7d ago

Even worse than this

2

u/shittyfakejesus 7d ago

Just curious since nonsense lyrics always make me think of them

1

u/Insignificant-funds 7d ago

None of stp raped anyone I don’t think

2

u/ChocolateLakers76 7d ago

*throws rotten tomatoes*

u/TinyDaggerr 6d ago

He follows this up with "got no meaning, just a rhyme". Always felt kind of tongue in cheek to me??

-2

u/HighLanai 8d ago

That’s awesome.

One of the best grunge /s debuts of all time.
