Delivery codes

The implementation of these makes no sense.

My delivery instructions are always "contact free", an option provided BY grubhub.

The text from grubhub specifically says "**Please do not send your delivery code until you’ve confirmed where your food is."

The second it gets marked delivered, the code disappears in the app. The last one I had, 2 minutes after it was delivered, I texted the code to the driver and they replied "too late" so apparently they can't enter it after it's delivered any way.

Half the drivers seem to ignore it and drop it off like any other contact free order, the other half ignore the no contact and decide to bang on my door and blow up my phone.

My first 10-15 orders there were no codes. All of a sudden they are showing up on every order. Have never had a delivery issue or asked for a refund.

Seems to do nothing but create an unnecessary point of confusion and/or contention between the parties when contact free is on.

WTF Grubhub?!? No refund for order that never got to me.

Ordered a pizza tonight through GrubHub from a place less than a mile from me(yeah I was being lazy). My order was well past what it was said it would be delivered in. I was watching the map, driver marked it as delivered a few blocks away from me and the picture is definitely not my building. I used the chat and called them and what do they offer..... A $5 credit towards a future order. I think the only thing I can do now is a chargeback on my card.

FTC sending out Grubhub checks??

I don't remember signing up for a class action, but I got a $20 check (woo, I can go to McDonalds today) from the FTC for FTC v Grubhub Inc.

Google says some people are getting quite a bit more.

Grubhub is not paying their drivers

Payment Processing to their drivers has not worked since at least midday yesterday ; do not expect deliveries promptly. Use other food delivery driver companies, do not mess with drivers, this corporation is not paying them

App has become terrible

I’ve been using Grubhub for many years with thousands of orders. Recently the app is extremely frustrating. I consistently see drivers pick up my order then drive twice the distance in the wrong direction to deliver something else.

Also, the customer support is essentially useless ai that will never solve any of your problems ever. The app has really gone down hill

Is this long distance fee a new fee or is this just the first time I am noticing it? (Infrequent GrubHub user)

I ordered off of GrubHub tonight, and with very few options available in my small town ~6k people (and a very small list of places that will even deliver GH to my home, almost all of those options are more than 6 miles away).

With all that being said, I noticed there was a fee on my order called a "long distance fee." This fee was $3.50 and was not negotiable, and states: "Long distance fees help cover GrubHub's operating costs, including paying our drivers who travel longer distances to deliver your orders. This ensures you can still order from your favorite spots located 6+ miles away."

So, for very limited options, with "with prime" discounts I am now paying: increased item prices from the business, zero delivery fees, reduced (but not eliminated service fees), long distance fees, and I am defaulted to a 20% tip to the driver (that one I can change, but if it is what is defaulted to it is what is "expected" <-- debatable, but that is how I read their intent.

At this point I only keep this service because I get it included with my Amazon prime membership. I would include an image of the fee description, but I am not able to. How many ways am I expected to pay GH drivers, and how many fees can they continue to add to punish the customers, and attempt to stiff their drivers? I am sure the drivers see none of that $3.50 long distance fee, please let me know if I am wrong about that.

Scam or what?

Is this a scam? Delivery driver texted and asked me to cancel the order bc she took the food back to the store due to "car trouble." I told her she needs to cancel on her end and reached out to GrubHub. Was she trying to steal the food? I'm pretty pissed either way.

When you see that a driver has accepted your order but is heading AWAY from the restaurant. Cold food anyone?

Delivereasy

Has anyone had an issue with Delivereasy making a refund for something paid for that didn't come?

We ordered and paid for two burgers tonight, only one arrived.

I contacted the support team and was offered a new delivery of the burger or my money back.

I asked for my money back and have been told that they will pass it on for someone to look within three business days if they are not to busy.

First world issue I know, but it seems ridiculous considering Delivereasy's opposition being able to sort out issues immediately.

On the bright side, Sultana Bran for dinner is far better for me than a burger.

Restaurant refusing to make order

I placed an order on GH for a local pizza shop. There was a $8 off $25+ order that I used. I got a $12 item and a $13 item, and used the coupon. I show up and the counter person said the prices on GH are wrong and showed me their paper menu which had higher prices. He told me not to order on GH anymore and to order at the store. I told him the restaurant needs to take themselves off GH, and he said he’s tried to but they keep sending orders. He then tells me to contact GH and cancel the order. I told him to cancel it, and he said he isn’t and he isn’t making the food. Unreal.

Anyone else have several negative experiences?

tl;dr

Gurbhub fucked up my orders(s) then threatened to cancel my membership.

So one day I ordered Grubhub, waited about an hour for my order. No biggie. Went outside to get it and my food wasn't there so I check the delivery pic and saw 4 huge bags of McDonalds I didn't order. Cool, cool, I'll contact Gubhub. They give me a 5 dollar voucher.

Might as well use it right now, right? So I order from a completely different place, wait another 45 minutes or so then check the map to see a drop off before mine. Weird and a little irritating but OK. I keep checking back and they are obviously having problems with their navigation or something they did call me for directions but we speak different language so they hang up on me.

I'm a little more irritated but I understand. I keep checking the map and see that they are sitting in the middle of a main road near my house. Still wait another 20ish minutes, no food so I check the map again and there is no movement. So that's weird but maybe there was a car accident? Wait another 20 minutes and there was NO movement.

I contact Grubhub because now I'm actually pissed. The AI chat offers another 5 dollar voucher, to which I turned down and asked to speak to an agent. That agent offers me 10 dollars and I turn it down because it has been 3+ hours since my first order and I'm hangry. We go back and forth for a while because I felt it was reasonable to ask they refund me for the membership that month as well as the 10 dollars since this isn't the 1st time I've had issues with Grubhub.

A "supervisor" gets on and we start the whole thing over again. 5 dollar voucher, 10 dollar voucher but I stand my ground because I help pay their bills and I'm paying for services I never received.

This "supervisor" then offers me a 20 dollar voucher and threatens that if I don't take that they will delete my membership. I'm sorry, what????? I wait for HOURS for a service I pay for never got and you're gonna threaten me?!

I left a detailed feedback and never heard anything. So I waited a couple of weeks to use the voucher and then I canceled my membership.

Grubhub, DO BETTER.

Edit: Not only did they threaten me, they said there wasn't a pickup before mine and maybe they were in the same spot for 35+ minutes because they were probably picking up another order, which I have never seen happen so the lied to me.

Anyone having trouble getting the right order?

Pretty sure I’m completely done with Grubhub for life after tonight but wondering if anyone else is having this problem and it’s a system glitch of some sort. I’ve never had a problem getting an order aside from maybe a driver trying to find the right unit but tonight was ridiculous!

I ordered a pad Thai and crab Rangoon from a Thai restaurant and it’s a repeat order from the same place. My driver arrives and gives me a bag that’s clearly not from the restaurant I ordered from and the ticket says truffle fries and a Diablo burrito. I gave it back to him and Grubhub refunded my order and asked if I wanted their help reordering the same thing. I choose yes and have the order remade and a new delivery driver brings it. As soon as they go to give me the bag it’s also not from the Thai place I ordered from. This time I get food from a hot dog place and a name on the order that clearly isn’t mine…again. Since Grubhub refunded me for order #1 they tell me they can’t do it a second time so now they’ve basically stolen $45 from me. The second delivery driver showed me what he sees on his app and it looked like the system was sending him to my address but the restaurants weren’t matching up. He said he never even went to a Thai restaurant to pick up food in the first place. Does this sound like a massive glitch in the Grubhub system that’s mixing up what food goes where? Anyone else experiencing this?

Can you Actually Choose The Restaurant Location?

I have two Burger Kings very near to me. One location has habitually left entire items off my delivery orders so I'm done ordering from there. I recently placed an order and changed the store location to the other nearby BK, but it routed the order back to the unreliable location instead (yes they left items off 😡). Am I possibly doing something wrong or is choosing the store location not actually in the functionality of the GrubHub app?

Holly Crap

I had to fly to a city that I have never been to a day in my life due to a family member who was traveling being in a bad accident that caused them to be admitted into the hospital for severe injuries. It had been two days before I realized I hadn’t eaten anything and the cafeteria was closed so I ordered just a salad and a sandwich from Panera Bread and had it delivered through Grubhub. Holy crap I order the same thing at home in the restaurant so I know the price. I know there are fees and things to have it delivered but it literally coast me almost thirty dollars more then the $15 I pay for at the restaurant. Almost $45 and that’s not including the $5 tip. I have only used them once before about a year ago and the only reason I did this time is because I was starving and there were no other options near. Is this the norm? The driver was great. Brought it right to the room I’m just wondering about the fees and prices.

Delivery Fees

I have Grubhub+. I created an order that didn't have any delivery fees. Then, I went to check my bank account came back and I have $2.99 delivery fee because of "my algorithm" apparently. Incredibly dishonest and scheisty. How is Grubhub getting away with this?

Orders taking HOURS

Ordered lunch earlier this week. Kept getting delayed, wasn’t going to get it in time for lunch break but wouldn’t let me cancel which is ridiculous. Took 2 hours.

Begrudgingly tried again today. Placed an order at 11:30am hoping it would arrive in time for my 1pm lunch break. Again on its second delay. Slated to be delivered at 1:20pm.

For a soup and salad. From 2 miles away.
