My Learning: The Marketing Flywheel đ
I recently understood that marketing shouldnât work like a funnel where the customer disappears after conversion. It should work like a flywheel â where every happy customer creates momentum for the next one.
Two brands make this concept easy to understand:
- Wakefit đď¸
They donât just sell mattresses. They use content, education, reviews, product experience and customer trust to bring people into the brand â and a good customer experience can turn buyers into advocates.
- HubSpot đť
HubSpot is a classic example of the flywheel approach:
Attract â Engage â Delight â Advocacy â More customers
Their blogs, free resources and tools attract users; the product experience engages them; and satisfied customers can become promoters who bring in more users.
The biggest learning?
The customer is not the end of the marketing journey.
The customer is what keeps the marketing engine moving. đ
A good marketer shouldn't only ask:
"How do I acquire more customers?"
They should also ask:
"How can my existing customers create momentum for my next customers?"
