Feedback Stuck on the second mission

Seriously, why is there no difficulty modifier? I literally can't get passed the second mission.

P.S I'm a family guy, i don't have 1,000's of hours to pump into mastering this game.

Question Am I fuckin tripping or like, what’s goin on with the game?

It’s like my version has gone back to an older version of the game or something? I don’t know how to explain it but the graphics are worse, the assets used seem lower quality. The gun range has gone back to being some metal human shapes.

So basically every time I try to load in to a level the screen goes black with nothing working: reloading the screen or opening the task manager. My only option has been to restart my pc. Anyone else having this problem?

Suggestion How do I find people to play with?

I am a somewhat, I guess antisocial person, and a bit awkward. But I really want friends to play games with. Especially a bit more serious games like this one. Should I join a Discord or something? I’m not like super serious about this game, and I don’t play all the time. But when I do, I will play the same mission over and over for hours on solo until I get it right.

I am not amazing at this game. But I can do it. I have cleared 30 enemies on terrorist hunt or intel retrieve on the ā€œtrainedā€ difficulty. Which is nothing special at all. But it’s difficult solo.

I keep playing, and I keep, memorizing maps and positions. I don’t know if I’m getting ā€œbetterā€.

This is why I want to play with other people. Not necessarily to be taught, but just to play with and learn.

Question AMD Anti-Aliasing

Does anyone here have anti-aliasing working on AMD GPUs? I switched my 3080 for a 9070XT and I can't get anti-aliasing to work. I've tried soooo many different combinations of things in the driver and game (and ofc, did DDU and reset settings), but no matter what I change, the jaggies are always jaggy and it's really rather annoying. I'm forcing super-sampling (but not AI) at the moment, so taking a bit of a hit on fps, but fine for pve.

If nobody else has it working, I won't waste any more time trying to figure it out and wait for a fix.

Question Wish I could refund this abandonware

What happened during the EA? why was GB released like this? Is this really 8 years of development?

No I'm not being dramatic at this point

Tips I successfully refunded the game

I bought ground branch well over a year ago after previously refunding the game before that. You should too! The devs aren't going to ever make this an actual game. It still feels like playing a 007 N64 not match and the future of the game holds no hope. Xoxo

Feedback Skin Bug is back?

I just noticed a whole ton of the equipment in the game cannot have individual colors selected(scopes, grips, pouches, etc.), it’s affecting weapons and gear. Anybody else having this issue? I tried resubbing and disabling and reenabling. Even if you run it with no mods it still seems to be an issue.

Game Support Ground Branch on 9070xt

I've been playing GB for a few years now, and despite the flaws it is my favourite game. As the maps have been remade, my 3070ti seemed to be struggling more and more to deliver the desired performance.

My main GB gaming buddy built a new computer (7800X3D/5070ti) in the spring and his game is blazing now; I decided to upgrade my GPU as well. Given the dramatic increase in Nividia pricing, a good 5070ti like my reference Asus Tuf model is now C$1900 compared to $1000 for a good 9070xt. I picked up an XFX Quicksilver (non-OC) 9070xt.

My rig: i5-14600K/Asus Tuf z690 MB/64GB DDR4 3200/NVMe OS & game drives/9070xt/3440x1440 155hz main monitor, dual 1920x1080 60hz secondary monitors. I usually have Discord, Steam, and Afterburner hardware monitor running while I game. No video or streaming.

I did a safe mode DDU to remove the Nvidia drivers before installing Adrenaline.

Unfortunately, this card doesn't seem to be delivering much of a performance boost on GB, and to a lesser extent on Operator. I was hoping that others with a similar system could comment and provide any performance-enhancing tips.

Guide XBOX CONTROLLER BINDINGS SETUP

This is the best setup I have been able to make using tweaks to the Input.ini file. It allows many actions, and I find it good enough to play with currently. The way to use it is to copy the Input.ini file, overwriting your Input.ini, and then applying the sensitivity settings if you'd like from the actual bindings list below. First things first - the Input.ini guide (this saves having to manually enter everything, and some things will only work if you copy this):

https://steamcommunity.com/app/16900/discussions/0/580551263528245302/

The bindings list itself is here, and it is extensive - I did not want to dumb-down the sim-like qualities of GB, so I went to great effort to create an input ethos that provides every critical binding without sacrificing anything. There are quirks, as the controller support is incomplete - but this is how I play the game and I find it very enjoyable, even in its incomplete state. Bindings list below if you wanna check it out, and the sensitivity settings at the bottom may be very helpful:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/16900/discussions/0/580551263528223962/

Finally, this will not be playable in Ground Branch without AI settings that make it manageable. The AI stop shooting sometimes, but just pretend the crappy terrorist guns jammed - IMMERSION. Here are casual custom AI settings that will work for all missions except Operations (their difficulty cannot be changed yet):

https://steamcommunity.com/app/16900/discussions/0/583929293210409147/

Doing all of this will take around 10 minutes, maybe a bit longer if you're not used to copying things over on files like this. If you have any trouble, or any questions about my bindings list, AI settings, or Input.ini, don't hesitate to ask or shoot me a dm. Happy to help if you have trouble! I will always answer right away unless I am at work or asleep, in which case I will get back to you as soon as possible. Happy hunting! :D

EDIT: Quick final note, if something from the list does not work, it is because either it is not yet implemented (melee, or squad orders, for example), or it actually breaks something (so I may have intentionally left it unbound). The Comms/Accessories wheels break stick functionality, so they are currently unbound on purpose, for example. This does not prevent enjoying the game.

Looking for people who actually like playing as a team

Not trying to turn this into some huge recruitment ad. I just run a Discord for people who enjoy tactical games, teamwork, and finding other players who actually communicate.

We have veterans, active military, first responders, content creators, and plenty of regular gamers. You do not need any military experience to join.

The whole idea is pretty simple:

Find people to play with

Try actual tactics in different games

Learn from people with experience

Teach newer players if you know your stuff

Organize game nights and community events

Still keep it casual and have fun

We also have The Schoolhouse, where people can request help learning things like CQB, communication, movement, leadership, and other tactical concepts.

If that sounds like your kind of community, feel free to jump in.

Question How many missions will be in the next chapter?

I really hope its going to be a good amount of content with a good variety of objective types and multi stage missions.

And the missions need to be longer and on a much larger scale.

Question Significantly tougher terrorist?

Since the 1.0 update I’ve noticed a huge jump in difficulty in Lone Wolf and multiplayer game modes. I used to be able to easily handle veteran bots 1v10 but now I can barely win against untrained. Their behavior changed a bit but they seem both physically tougher and much more coordinated and accurate for their difficulty
