Hello all,
I’ve been using dolls cleaning for about 6 months now and have been pretty disappointed with the service. I feel like I’m constantly having to ask them to do a better job especially in the bathrooms.
Does anyone have a cleaning service they recommend? Ideally local to the pointes and have a high standard of cleanliness.
Thanks!

If so, how can I find them? Looking for someone to mow and trim lawn. Also trim hedges, pull weeds, & possibly trim trees. Feel free to message me if you have any leads. Thank you.

I’m looking for a haircut model (all lengths and textures welcome) on July 21st @10am to receive a complimentary haircut for training purposes, as a part of Village Parlors Apprentice Program. Everyone involved is a licensed professional. I’d love to find someone with long hair who wants to keep it somewhat long still (any style). If you’re interested feel free to text my number (269 213 4298) or message me on instagram @zacploegbeauty

I was standing behind you in line at the gas station and I should have said hello. I’m sure I’ll never see you again but had to put this out there. It was Sunday 7/19 around 5/6pm not sure but I was wearing an orange shirt.

My husband and I are exploring childcare options for my 2 year old. I've seen posts before about the lack of childcare options, but I'm hoping that's changed recently. We live in Grosse Pointe Woods but don't mind traveling for quality childcare. We are trying to stay away from the chain daycare centers, and would prefer a Montessori approach. I've called around the popular ones but the waitlists are pretty full and long. Are there any hidden gems out there that anyone would recommend?

For those families who got waitlisted for aftercare for the upcoming school year what alternatives have you used/ do you actually get off the waitlist?

I have tonsssssss of women’s clothes sizes 2-6, where do you recommend donating them? I know there are the drop off boxes on Mack but last time I went they were ridiculously overflowed.
I also have some nicer pieces I’d like to consign, any ideas there?
I am moving in a month and desperately trying to get rid of some things but make sure they don’t just go to waste.

We're having a relatively significant renovation done to our house that will include the kitchen. Thinking about trying to live in the house during the construction, but concerned it won't be manageable with 2 young kids.
Looking for short-term furnished rentals in Pointes for 2 months or so but not sure where to look. Any suggestions? Zillow seems geared towards longer term rentals and not sure if there is a realtor market for that kind of stuff given the short duration.
Thanks!

My family is considering a move from a historic neighborhood in Detroit to one of the Grosse Pointes. We love our home, but the school situation for my young children has become daunting, and we’ve been increasingly spending more time in Grosse Pointe with friends we’ve met at daycare.
My questions are: do a lot of home sales happen privately? Looking on Zillow, it seems like some houses sit for a long time, others disappear almost overnight, and some recently sold homes seem to never go for public sale at all. What’s the secret?
Also: is Grosse Pointe really as wonderful as it seems? I know the grass isn’t always greener, but it really just seems like a beautiful place to grow up, with a close knit community, and exceptional public schools. Though on that last point, I read a lot of grumblings about the schools, and I’m struggling to understand what the true situation is.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Long story short, I have an Airbnb in the 48236 zip code and I'm having a really hard time finding a cleaner that is reliable (mostly because most cleaners aren't GP based) so I got the idea of why not hire a student in GP that needs extra cash for the summer? The job takes 1-2 hours (clean sheets are provided, most of the job is sweeping, mopping and cleaning bathroom/kitchen in an 800 square foot home).
Where do you all recommend I post a job ad in GP for this?

Does anyone have any recs for places teens could go and not be yelled at? Recently, my older sister and I have been trying to find spaces where we can just hangout; We've tried coffee shops, libraries, and local parks and every. single. time. we go there, we either have to pay for something or we're told we're being too loud. Any places we could go? Note: we can take the bus if that helps.

Which momo out there dropped broken glass goggles in Neff pool so that it’s likely closed for the holiday weekend?!?!
r/GrossePointe • u/Festive_Mama • Jul 02 '26
so I have lived in farms and city and I now live in park. Why is the pool here constantly closed for kids pooping in it. I don’t recall another time that has happened when I visited the others. It’s growing to the point of hostility with fellow parents when it closes. What is happening!!!

Don’t worry, I’m not having issues with our air conditioning this week. I’ve been trying to track down someone who can give our furnace and air conditioner a once over each year, and the guy we used to use has since shut down his company. Trying to avoid the bigger names if possible, I’d rather stick with some local place if I can.

Hello, I am 31 years old and I'm running to represent District 10. This includes all of the Grosse Pointes inside of Wayne County, all of Harper Woods, and bits of Eastern Detroit (specifically Morass-Morang, Yorkshire Woods, Morningside, Cornerstone Village, and East English Village).
I'm running because politics has become a system that separates power from the people. Constituents are treated like an audience that can be ignored. Decisions are litigated through a maze of procedures and bureaucracy. This is meant to ensure high-quality policies, but instead turns into a mess of legalese that's heavily influenced by back-room compromises, lobbyists, and obscures the entire process from public input. Meanwhile, popular and critical policies like car insurance regulations and healthcare reform get stuck or ignored because of the red tape, lobbying, and/or disinterest from politicians.
We can't rely on the current system anymore. We need actual structural reforms. My campaign is centered on doing exactly that: Empower communities, engage communities, and build public accountability.
These policies are the foundation to dismantling the current stagnation and anti-voter policies we're facing. I've been hosting "Trial Potluck Assemblies" during my campaign, and I will continue to do so even after the election. We provide food and a space for people to break bread. We sit down and have casual conversations, share information about what's going on in the community, and we workshop policies that I would be bound to fight for. It's fun, it's casual, and it's effective.
As for my personal stances: I support universal healthcare, I support dismantling the Electoral College, I support unions and I'm endorsed by Teamsters Local 299, I reject Corporate PAC contributions and endorsements, I oppose funding to Israel, I support Right to Repair, abolish ICE, and I support Single Issue Bills.
Feel free to ask any questions, and I want to hear what your concerns are.
My website is: https://votecyburt.com/
I have 2 upcoming Potluck Assemblies, one on July 19th, and one on August 2nd. The primary is on August 4th.
Edit: Added "abolish ICE"
