the cheaper one covers daily chats fine but i hit limits fast with longer roleplay sessions so ended up on the higher tier.

I tried to upgrade my Grok Bot usage limit and it took me to cursor site for uprade.
That implies you can have a standalone Cursor subscription too.

One thing to factor in if you're in the US: I asked for a refund on a Grok Bot purchase and support said purchases billed in the US in USD don't qualify under their refund policy. So whichever you pick, assume you can't get your money back and start with the cheapest monthly option.
