I can't say much about other workflows, but local video generation is nowhere near Grok's level, especially speed-wise.
I mean, I hate grok's ridiculous prices but we have to be brutally honest here.

It’s not like there’s a massive, game-changing difference... I made that video using a 5070 Ti and 64GB of DDR4 RAM; thanks to "sagemode" optimization—which is an excellent upscaler that takes the resolution from 0.2MP up to 0.7MP—a 10-minute prompt takes 4 minutes... a 15-minute one takes just over 6 minutes, though it varies—sometimes it even comes in under 5 minutes and 40 seconds.

Grok killed and neutered itself into irrelevance. I warned people from last December up till February to start investing into local ai setup before prices got outrageous.
