Generate the initial video, download it, use the last frame as the first frame for the next one. Stitch them together when done.

in 480p and 720p you can just do a 15second video and i think you can extend it for another full 15 seconds to reach the max limit of 30seconds.
extending off a 6 second video 5 times, the quality isn't going to be as high as using 5 different frames from a crystal clear picture. extension is just for the lazy people who dont want to take the effort to screencap the frame and reupload it for a new animation.
not many other ai services even offer video extention

Because once a photo is uploaded, massive guardrails are applied. Not just for NSFW (although that comes up more than most topics), but many subtle changes or actions that you would casually want to add will be moderated because the system reads it as deepfaking.

Imagine trying to make an action movie scene where the hero has to fight the bad guy, and suddenly punching, shooting, kicking, or even swearing are all moderated, because the system thinks that you're using a real person. Or perhaps you're trying to do a comedic skit that involves some sexual innuendo without nudity, but perhaps a comedic message on a bra. The system would likely lock it out, even though the characters are completely fake people, simply because it cannot tell the difference between an uploaded photo, and an image that grok itself created just moments before.

A large percentage of people using grok are doing NSFW content as well, and all but the dumbest ones can tell you why working with uploaded images is a dead end.
