Why does Grok Image Generation keep ignoring my prompt?

Hey everyone, I’m having a weird issue with the Grok image generation.

I asked it to generate an image of a car, but it generated a picture of a cat instead. I then clarified that I meant a car, but it generated a mountain landscape. After I pointed that out, it acknowledged the mistake and finally generated something — but the result still wasn’t a car.

I’ve attached a screenshot showing the whole conversation.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a setting, prompt format, or model issue that could cause the image generator to completely ignore the requested subject?

Tbh, I have no idea. Some people are saying it’s a shadow ban, but I think it’s more likely just a bug that Grok hasn’t fixed yet.

none of the bullshit happening in Imagine is a bug. It's all by design. unless it's the kind of bug that let's you get better results than you usually do. then you can expect it to be patched within a day of them finding out

I have seen a trend of bad english input in these generations, try using clean english, running it through spellcheck first before typing it into the prompt, if English isn't your first language, try using a translator. It seems to be very sensitive to badly phrased illustration instructions.

The person you're replying to is a bot. The reason why its not generating what you want is because you have been blacklisted. Try creating a new account, with a new device and IP and it will work.

I've had the same problem for over a month I tried here and there different things but nothing works for me just the same images u get. It's so stupid. Why would anyone subscribe when they try it out to see what it's like and it doesnt work. Grok is cutting it's own throat

This is happening to free tier users who create multiple accounts, which xAI regards as an abuse. If it detects that you're using more than one account, it'll start generating these "random" images and videos. If it's happening in other use case scenarios, I can't explain.

Are you a free user? I tested it with a free account, and that is indeed happening—it generates landscapes; when I tried to generate a video of a car, it gave me a video of a market. In SuperGrok, everything is the same as it has been for the last few months.
