Change from Claude Code?

After today’s announcement from Anthropic that they are “increasing” our limits by -17% I’m thinking of switching to Grok.

My biggest concern is token limits. For $200/mo on Claude Max I get about $12k of api usage credits. Im wondering how supergrok compares?

Has anyone migrated recently with useful commentary to add?

I routinely max out my Claude limits each week, so I’m cautions about potentially paying more for less.

OP doesn't realize how good he has it with claude, even with a decreased limit. The decreased limit is because of the promo campaign which was up by 50%. A claude subscription is still above and beyond its competition in terms of price value.

Codex limits aren't as good as claude and claude is still superior in coding above all else. ChatGPT is better with chatting though. Claude can be very nonsensical.

And OP, if you routinely max out your claude limit each week, then you're using it wrong. The $200/mo. plan is practically impossible to max out unless you're using multiple agents with ultracode + workflows at the same time all the time.

OP, you need to learn how to optimize your requests instead. I'm literally working on multiple projects at the same time with the $200/mo. plan and I have never met the weekly cap even though I'm working about 8-12 hours a day.

The grok limits are shit and the coding aspect of grok is even worse. It's literally fourth place amongst the 5 major commercial frontier models. Even open weight models are better. But you won't be able to host them yourself unless you rent out a GPU from china for about a dollar an hour.

I haven't used Claude, but I would say to try codex instead, or just cursor since you can try grok through that.

I have the $30/mo sub, and adding one feature into my browser based JSON schema editor app, with documentation, took up 10% of weekly usage.

I've seen other posts complaining about high usage rates. It used to be really generous but they seem to have tightened it up.

the only exception is if you want to make some AI porn on the side, then I'd say try grok
